So with this lovely weather we’ve been having and the sun cream I used to being any good. I’ve Managed to burn my back and shoulders. Are you allowed to use after sun? The only reason I question it is because of the aloe Vera. Thanks

Why would you not be allowed to use aftersun?!

If in doubt you could use natural yoghurt I suppose?

Make sure you drink plenty fluids so you don't get dehydrated.

I’m making sure I’m drinking lots of water! I’m gonna use the after sun. I think it looks more like a rash in some places rather than burn x

I thought it was drinking Aloe Vera juice that you couldn't do during pregnancy (as it can stimulate the bowel) but when used topically over smaller areas was fine.

If you need to absolutely cover yourself in it I'd maybe give it a miss but I use straight Aloe Vera gel as an after sun and just using it on my shoulders and face hasn't caused a problem so far.

I'm sure it would be fine but if in doubt maybe run some sudacreme on it instead its great for sunburn and especially if its a rash- if you've got a touch of prickly heat its the best treatment ever for it

It’s only really my back and shoulders. My belly was covered thankfully! I’ll just try a little bit and see how i get on x

@TiptopJ
I did think about sudacreme but the one I’ve found expired the end of 2019 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t think it would still have the same effect x

Yes of course you can use after sun (and sun cream - all much the same) be aware also that the hormones can cause you to burn far easier when pregnant so take extra care in the sun

I've used aftersun in previous pregnancies without adverse reactions.
I avoid being out in the sun much but did get a bit pink mowing the lawns last week and used my palmers cocoa butter on it.

Yeah I definitely realise that now and I’m not going to be going out in the sun in prime time and at least making sure my shoulders are covered! Thank you
