Maternity/Nursing PJs

Anyone know where to get some nice comfy maternity/nursing PJs from that don’t cost the earth? I want two sets for my hospital bag but Serphaine is too pricey for me (I can’t justify £90 on PJs).

Boohoo/ASOS isn’t great quality. M&S used to have some but don’t anymore. Shein have some but no idea what the quality is like!

I got some fairly cheap and cheerful ones from New Look - they are comfy and wash well :-)

I recently got a nightie from Mamamoosh, who are normally very pricey but seem to have loads of things reduced to £19.99 at the moment. I do like it but I wouldn’t have been happy to pay £40-50 for it. They have pjs and robes as well.

Also Seraphine have 20% off if you buy 2 of their ‘essentials’ (which includes nightwear) and 30% off some other things just now including one set of PJs (thinking of getting for hospital myself)

This is my second but I never really got nightwear sussed last time….

For feeding at night I just wear a vest top or v/scoops neck top I can pull down, or in winter the usual one up/one down with a vest top under a loose top. I never bothered with specific bf nightwear, fiddling with buttons is annoying when it's dark and your tired and baby is rooting/crying!

CaptainWentworth · 02/06/2021 15:59

@Garman do you not get really hot wearing 2 tops at night? I couldn’t sleep like that, and equally would be too cold in just a vest top in winter especially if sitting up to feed.

Chelyanne · 02/06/2021 16:03

I got some reasonably priced PJ's from George @ Asda. Also got a couple of Happy Mama nighties from amazon, one popper front and the other button front.

Garman · 02/06/2021 16:07

@CaptainWentworth not in the depths of winter I wouldn't no, especially as when bed sharing with a small baby the duvet is down around my waist so the tops are all that are keeping me warm. We don't have heating on overnight so. I don't sit up to feed so can't comment on that issue, but I would be cold wearing just a vest top under a duvet anyway in winter.

Garman · 02/06/2021 16:08

Actually a long sleeve scoop neck top is my compromise when it's not cold enough for one up/one down, arms are warm and I just pull the neckline down.

There is an Irish brand called Dunnes Stores that is very reasonable and does Maternity nightwear that is similar quality to M&S, they should deliver to England. Primark also has a maternity range I think but obviously you have to go into store to get it.

KM38 · 02/06/2021 16:12

@Tvscreen I got some from Asda 😊 much better range online than in store!

Bettybbbb · 02/06/2021 16:13

I got some maternity ones from Asda and H&M. Cheap and cheerful. Seem to wash well. They are not nursing friendly though.

mads2750 · 02/06/2021 16:18

I had some lovely ones from gap, really soft and stretchy with buttons for feeding. And still wear them now - DD is 2!

mummabubs · 02/06/2021 16:20

I just bought some Mamalicious ones via ASOS- they were £32 but have to say they are so comfy and the nursing function makes them so easy to breastfeed in that I feel they're worth the money. (and usually I buy my pjs from the supermarket so definitely a bit of a luxury in my book!)

mummabubs · 02/06/2021 16:22

Should have added that for labour I literally just bought a huge baggy nightie from primark. I'm not sure if this is your first bubba but in my experience anything you pack for birth / the early days gets covered in all sorts during that time so safer to go cheap and cheerful!

edgeware · 02/06/2021 16:25

Anything button up will do well

swiftt · 02/06/2021 16:28

They’re not maternity, but I got some PJs from Lindex recently. They’re soooo soft! The tops are button up so will be suitable for nursing. I also got a nursing nightdress from Boohoo that I’m planning on taking to hospital, but I much prefer two piece PJ sets.

bookish83 · 02/06/2021 16:31

Happy Mama did some great button up and longer length ones

Curlymam88 · 02/06/2021 16:31

I have 3 sets from George at asda. They are cami tops with adjustable straps and very stretchy pj bottoms. They aren't maternity ones but are so comfy and stretchy.

BeesAnkles · 02/06/2021 16:58

I got mine from Amazon.

Tvscreen · 02/06/2021 19:14

Thank you all for your suggestions, I will be having a look tonight and might try popping into primark tomorrow!

I use h and m nursing vests with normal pj bottoms. They are £15 for 2. Can use daytime also alone or under shirt.

Then just bought a pair of regular button down pjs so can wear now And later.
