Irish baby names

Hello, does anyone know of any good resources / books on Irish baby names? Lots of sites I've come across are the Americanised versions of Irish names and very little on actual Irish names. We think we're sorted for a boy's name but are struggling on a girl's name and I have a (totally unfounded) feeling that this little one is a girl!

Also - any suggestions?

So far we've got:

Éabha (Ay-va) or Aoibhe (Eva)
Fiadh (Fia)
Nuala
Niamh (Neev)
Riona

Thanks!

Caoimhe and Orlaith were very popular names in my year at school which possibly makes them deeply uncool as I am from the Karen and Claire Louise generation. What about Aoibheann or Blathnaid?

And if you like Riona theres Cliona too.

I know a Cadhla (ky-la), Aoife (ee-fa), Mairead (ma’raid) which are all lovely. And has anyone mentioned Niamh yet? Favourite.

Also if you like Ailbhe (ale-va or al-va, both pronunciations are beautiful) you might like Eilbhe (el-va), less common though neither is overused

Fionnuala maybe if you like Nuala? She could be Nuala for short, or Finn which j think is really cute.

I also like Sinead - a classic.

I’m also from NI and wouldn’t choose Saoirse for the same reasons as you. Plus all the annoying English people pronouncing it “Sursha” (without the r) thanks to Saoirse Ronan! Drives me mad!
