I’m worried as I have bled fresh red blood after having sex. It happened with my first when I was around 6/7 weeks. Didn’t expect it at this late a stage. Should I be concerned.. have been having brown old blood for a couple of days and had 20 week scan on Monday and all was fine..
Wwyd?

I had this at 20w with my second and everything was fine. Silly question, but is it definitely coming from up inside, or is it more exterior?

I realised mine was actually where I was a little err....dry and think I had perhaps torn my skin a tiny bit. Otherwise, you might have just irritated your cervix?

I would message your midwife if you can just for reassurance but I wouldn't worry in the meantime - if you Google it, it's really common!

I would call the midwife of ante natal unit just to be sure. I had this and was told to go in straight away. I was 28 weeks. They kept me in for a few nights bed rest as they suspected early labour but then I was fine and sent home and told to just take it very easy x

Call your midwife to be safe. You might need to be seen at the hospital just to be extra safe.
But this happened to me at 36 weeks. All fine, it can happen to your cervix after sex. They told me at the hospital it's all normal.

Thankyou for all your replies. I think things are likely to be ok and feel like I might appear a bit of a hypochondriac if I call triage again. It sounds like cervical erosion. I’m pretty sure it came from inside it was kind of reddy pink mixed with everything else if you know what I mean (sorry tmi)..
will keep an eye on it.. it seems to have stopped this morning. If it continues I will call triage.. I’ll also keep an eye on movement (although very faint at the moment).
Thankyou again for your replies I’m sorry you had the same but they are very reassuring xxx

Hi Peachee. I would get it checked out. They won't think you're a hypochondriac, but even if they did, better that than to risk your baby?
Also if you are rhesus negative you will need anti-D. If that's the case, you absolutely must call asap.
Chances are it's nothing concerning, I agree. But better safe than sorry.

I’ve spoken to triage.. they said it’s reassuring that the bleed happened after sex and it’s my call if I want to go in and be seen or not. The lady didn’t seem overly concerned. I’ve decided to just monitor and I’ve literally just felt movement whilst I’ve typed this message which is a relief.. not feeling a lot at the moment as I have an anterior placenta so it’s hard to monitor. Thankyou for all your help you’re all lovely for taking the time to post xxxxxxx
