Hi, This is my first post. I am almost 35, 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby (due date mid June), and would like to see if there are any women in a similar postion who would like to post here and share their experiences.

And I would like to add that I am wearing my black lacy thermal top, which looks exactly like a pricey one from Jigsaw, and pretty damn fine it looks too

welshmum · 04/11/2004 15:26

I'm wearing mine too - with boots and a mini!

charleypops · 04/11/2004 15:39

Those thermals sound very saucy!

Welshmum and Mrs Wednesday I think I can't post on the June thread because the page is too big! A few of the other "Due in....." threads start a page two etc when theirs get big (the June one is the biggest I can see actually), so I don't think I'll be able to post until "page two" .......... I'm not hinting or anything.......

Just goes to show that 'older'! women are the sexiest!!!!!

Welcome Charleypops. I clickedon this thread thinking... "oh gosh, am I an older mum" But, at 35 w/no. 2 on the way I think i'm in the clear.

And, sorry to say re the stretch marks, the only thing that will ge you out of them is if your mother didn't get them and her mother didn't get them. Seems to be genetic. Although, I quite enjoyed the boots stretch mark cream being rubbed on the BIG BIG belly last time... and will probably do it again.

ALso, I think a good book is Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy. It's a bit more light hearted than some of the others. I found it refreshing after reading the list of things I should not eat on babycentre.co.uk.

Oh, and as for the June thread, they are the chattiest ones on here. So, prepared to read a lot.

Hi Uwila!

How weird, I've just posted a message for you on the "Due in may" thread!

Just asked Gran - she didn't get stretch marks, and I know mum didn't, so fingers crossed, I'll be ok! dad's got a few though......

I'm a similar size to you (though now more 8/10) - I didn't use any creams on the bump which was sizeable as ds weighed in at 8 lb 3oz. Like Uwila said, I think it's genetic. My mum didn't get any. I know of some women who have used lots of creams and still ended up with stretch marks. Wish there was a cream though that would melt the thighs that I've aquired.

charleypops · 04/11/2004 18:02

Hi Portree, apparently those cellulite creams actually work quite well on thighs - oops, maybe you've not got any! I know I've got a little bit which can only get worse as (if) pg progresses so I should get some really to get off as much as poss before I get too big to massage it in. I find all that massaging stuff incredibly boring though and massaging one's bum especially isn't the easiest thing in the world. Knowing me, I'll get some, use it once and leave it to solidify for years in the back of the cupboard! Think I'll start saving for lipo!
