some folk do keep doing tests just to check how dark they are but you are probably wise not to do that....
sickness does come and go - all the time it fluctuates.
try not to worry - i know it is so eay to say but not so in reality.
do you have any access to an early scan?
i had one last pg cos i felt all symptoms gone at 7 weeks and it was fine - very reassuring franny

Niecie · 19/11/2007 18:31

I was a bit like this with DS1. I felt really quite ill for about 10 days and then it stopped and I felt fine from then onwards. I think I was about 6 weeks when it started and so about 8 weeks when it finished. I still felt tired but not exhausted. Completely different with DS2 - low level nausea for about 6 weeks, with good days and bad days.

You are probably fine, but if you can get a scan it would put your mind at rest.

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2007 18:44

I am not sure about the scan; is there not some issue about the embryo being exposed to ultrasound that is not ideal?

It sounds like you may be a first time mum (like me). I was anxious right up to the 20 week scan and have only now begun to relax. If you are feeling anxious, perhaps go to the early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital for a scan to reassure yourself. You don't need an appointment. Midwives know first time mums can be more nervous and they have seen and heard it all before. Also - don't read too many postings about things going wrong. It'll put ideas in your head.

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2007 18:58

LOL no this is not my first time

can you imagine what I was when it was????

Prunie · 19/11/2007 19:04

Oh Frank
I know just how this is
But lots of friends said that their MS came and went.
It's the sort of thing that only time will reassure, I think.
My sore breasts disappeared at 8 weeks, just before I was due to have a scan, and I cried when everything was ok.
We have evolved to worry, really.
Have a manly pat on the bum head arm.

FrannyandZooey · 19/11/2007 19:07

oops last post meant to be "what i was LIKE when i was"

thank you Pruni. I don;t know. Obviously time will tell. I would rather be enjoying this a bit more instead of feeling very sick then not feeling very sick and worrying a lot. it seems a bit daft.

Prunie · 19/11/2007 19:10

ooh did they? will ponder
I was thinking of a total change, anyway.....

zippitippitoes · 19/11/2007 19:10

yeah i asked for my name back after i had lost most of the end of it becUSE I KEPT DEREGISTERING SO THEY WERE QUITE PATIENT WITH ME LOL

Greensleeves · 19/11/2007 19:12

I really think it's fine, Franny - loads and loads of people have short bouts of MS. It doesn't mean anything. Try and enjoy it!! (easily said, I know...)

A xx

S1ur · 19/11/2007 19:14

Just a thought, are you taking vitamins/iron/folic acid or anything like that. When I was pg with dc2 I was really sick, until my sis poited out that it was a very bad plan to take pill on empty stomach. I changed time of day I took them and hey presto!

VictorianSqualor · 19/11/2007 19:28

Franny, mine comes and goes, still, and Dc no.3 is fine, I can feel it moving (20weeks)
I suffered with MS with both of my other two, again, everything changed, one day I was awful the next day I was fine, some mornings I would get up like I could run a marathon, yet within an hour of two I was sick as a dog.
Please stop fretting, or I'm going to follow you round the board posting it's fine after everything you type
You worrying is worse for the baby than you not being sick.

oh you see avi I have not read it quite the same, I have thought "well yes but that is not QUITE like what has happened to me"

if I ring the midwives will they laugh their heads off? or just sigh a lot?

You need to see gp and be referred to EPAU for a scan to check on the baby. Most probably your lucky and just have fluctuating symptoms but sadly there may be something wrong and the only way to tell at this stage is to see. I have looked this up on other forums and it is really common for there to be nothing wrong so please don't panic. But if you are anything like me you will need a definate answer.

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 20/11/2007 12:02

i think the best thing for you to do is ring the epau up, they will probably check your hormone levels and do a scan.

VictorianSqualor · 20/11/2007 12:04

Franny, morning sicness is just your bodys way of coping with ups and downs of hormones, you say you didn't have it with a previous pregnancy so could just be that you are personally able to cope better with the hormones.
Have you tried calling The NCT??
The Pregnancy and Birth helpline is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 2pm on 0870 444 8709.
They could put your mind at ease.

ruty · 20/11/2007 12:37

i honestly don't think the absence or fluctuating presence of MS is something to seriously be worried about. But if you really are worried Franny, then have a scan to put your mind at rest. They are very quick, and gawd, i had so many with ds, and i looked up the stuff on possible dangers and all the sites said the alleged dangers of ultrasound scans had been thoroughtly researched and discounted. Only you can weigh up what is more important to you, the worry of no MS or the worry of a scan, of course ring the midwife, of course they won;t laugh, I've rung about toxiplasmosis/listeria/trapped wind, I could go on!

I hope your mind's at ease more now.

FrannyandZooey · 21/11/2007 17:57
