My partner and I were just at our local NHS maternity hospital for our first baby's 32-week scan. We don't know whether we are having a boy or girl, and have avoided finding out at previous scans. The consultant asked this at the start of the appointment, and when we said no, she said she'd stay away from that "region" when scanning. However, at one point during the scan, the consultant flicked from the main screen to a different screen on the ultrasound display, and on this new screen it said "Gender: Female" in the top right-hand corner. We both clocked it, before it changed back to the usual screen where they show measurements etc. The consultant didn't comment on it.
Although we had planned on keeping the baby's gender a surprise, now that we have both seen this, we are itching to know whether this means we are having a girl, or whether this was just referring to my wife who was being scanned?
Does anyone have any insights? Thanks so much!
