Kicks & movement?

Hello!

When did people start feeling their baby move more often?

I know it's different for every person, but I am nearly 19 weeks and quite slim and I'm lucky if I feel one bit of movement per day. Just curious as to when other people started to feel more movement??

Thanks!!

Everyone is totally totally different. You'll get loads of completely different answers, so it won't help you much!

I'm slim. First preg placenta was fundal and movements started around 18-19 weeks and got stronger (so you could see them with your eyes) by about 21-22 weeks.
Second preg placenta is anterior and weirdly I can see the movements when the baby kicks the front, but I can't always feel them inside me. I'm 20 weeks now. It's definitely not as easy to feel them as last time.

When you get your anomaly scan they'll tell you where your placenta is.

bang on 19 weeks! hadnt been convinced up 2 then, but at 19 weeks had 4 big jabs that even hubby felt and been getting stronger and more frequent ever since, now 25wks! only recently read in my notes that have anterior placenta so surprised perhaps felt it when I did. movement still fluctuates during day, and definitely changes sides a lot! exciting you are already feeling movement :)

I can't remember exact week I first felt DS1 kick, it was around 18 weeks.
with DS2 I noticed it at 15 or 16 weeks.
I think it was DS5 who did one fairly big kick at 13 weeks, which is very unusual, then I felt nothing for a few weeks.

as baby grows and has less space it will speed up - kicks will be stronger and more noticable, unless baby's back is against your belly and they kick towards your spine.

it's different for everyone and witch each pg.

Second baby and I didn't get regular movement until about 27-28 weeks
Not overweight by much .
37+5 now and it's all the time it feels like
I don't remember with my first baby as she's 5 now but I first felt movements around 19 weeks with both.

Two anterior placentas

Don't worry about it until 24 weeks onwards.
They are still quite small and can easily tuck themselves in to positions where you'll not feel much. As they get bigger they will get stronger and develop more of a pattern.

Ours is baby 6, 1st anterior placenta and I was worried about less movement until they told me where the placenta was at my anomaly scan. Now I have no concerns because she is so strong my whole belly will jump about (I'm not slim either). 28wk now.

I was feeling movements around 19 weeks but didnt know thats what it was, then at 20 week scan found out my placenta was anterior so was warned i may only feel little kicks, im almost 34 weeks now and baby is very very active, i found as baby got bigger the kicks got stronger and now they are more like rolls rather than full kicks, like a PP said until 24 weeks i wouldnt be too concerned and whats normal for 1 woman wont be for you, if you are at all worried contact your midwife even for just peace of mind

I was 18 weeks when I felt the first kicks. I'm slim with a posterior placenta. I only felt maybe one bit of movement per day (evenings) initially, cant quite remember how long that was the case for but I think easily a couple of weeks before movements became more regular. I think what you're experiencing sounds normal but if you're ever concerned about movements you can always contact your pregnancy assessment unit. They might say it's a little early but are usually just very helpful
