How are other sufferers getting on?

I've had spd in my last 3 pregnancies and it's slowly worsened in this pregnancy, now 28wk. I've been powerlifting for almost 4 years now and not willing to give it up just yet, will be forced to for ages if I have to go elcs again and big gaps are hard to deal with mentally (most I've had off to date was 3 weeks after foot surgery). Looking at my training records now there are a lot more gaps where I've taken a day or a week out, tut tut but you know pain can get a bit much sometimes. I was struggling with hip pain yesterday after waiting over 3 hours to see the consultants in those rubbish hard chairs but felt the need to get in and lift. So here I am with the bar and rack set up for squats. I know it's advised to avoid them with spd but my hips actually feel better after a session, so long as I don't do too much volume. I'm at a little over 60% of what I could do pre-pregnancy atm, I found it depressing dropping that much but I know it's pretty good going with the dodgy hips and the extra bodyweight I carry these days.

Honestly i have always been told if something causing you pain with spd you should avoid doing it

I'm 34 weeks, i walk about 10,000 steps a day and i struggle with that cannot imagine actually exercising

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE walking is harder, I think it due to the fact the surfaces are uneven and your stability shifts a lot. I'm not a fan of walking the dog anymore but I'm the only one here to do it.
Lifting is very different, I'm on a nice stable surface and can keep everything aligned to minimise irritation. It's the same with my osteoarthritis, the joints are more troublesome and painful when I'm not training. I tried researching about it but there's very little encouraging it and mostly telling you to avoid things so just listening to my body and stopping or having breaks when it feels like I'm overdoing things. I'm sure the little one wants to join in as she gets very active when I'm in the gym.

I'm only 25 weeks and running is already hurting my hips - I'm really disappointed it's hit so early this time!
I think like you say going into each session not pushing your body too hard, willing to take breaks as/when you need to. My running has gradually decreased each week, but I had to have a sports massage this week as my hips are so sore!

@SillyBry It does tend to start earlier with each pregnancy, I started with the 1st niggles from 8wk. I'm not surprised running has started to hurt your hips, it's quite high impact on your joints.
When you're dedicated to one form of exercise you learn where that thin line of pain is where you can push through or need to stop to avoid injury. I need the gym for mental health so trying to keep doing it as long as physically possible.

I hope you can keep up with yours too or find an alternative to bridge the gap until after birth.

@Chelyanne that’s exactly it! I keep seeing people talking about swimming and I just can’t stand swimming... but now I’ve had a massage and the weather is improving, I’m hoping to get back out... I’m very happy to run/walk/take it easy, but I do feel better in myself for getting out!
I also have horses, so more poor hips don’t stand a chance really! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
I ran to 30 weeks last time and then got a cruddy cold, had 10 days off and couldn’t pick it back up, so I just take each week as it comes!
