Hi ladies

So I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant & from 4 weeks I've been experiencing constant nausea, all day morning to night!! I'm finding it hard now as it's causing me to go off foods & eating (even my favourite foods are a struggle) as I constantly feel so sick. I haven't once actually been sick though..

Any tips on how to settle this feeling would be much appreciated? 😩

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I was the same until about 16 weeks! Still have bouts every couple of days now but it isn't all day, every day like it was from 6-16 weeks (now 19 weeks)

I actually vomited quite a lot as well but the nausea (hungover feeling) was horrible.

Only thing that helped for me was eating CONSTANTLY but just dry, beige, rubbish food! Never eaten so many ready salted crisps, McDonalds, Subway etc. in my life! Finally managed a vegetable about 17 weeks :-D x

No tips really, but sending sympathy. I had HG til 20 weeks and have had constant nausea since then (now 36 weeks). It is miserable - I found the sipping Dr Pepper helped (never usually drink the stuff!) and eating v bland plain food when I could. Most important thing is to keep hydrated - if you find yourself struggling to take in fluids, please call your GP as there are many medications that can at least take the edge off for you.

I'm in the same boat... constantly feeling sick and if I dint eat a small plain snack every 30 mins or so I progress to being sick. So the eating constantly as mentioned above is what's working for me to keep it controlled. I've got biscuits on my bedside table both for over night wake ups and to have as soon as I wake in the morning.

I'm 11 weeks today by the way forgot to add that! Hoping it will ease off at some point in the second trimester.

Eat, eat and eat some more! Make sure your stomach is never empty as you will then feel too sick to get anything down.

Thanks for your replies ladies. Nice to hear everybody else's stories. I'm yet to find something I can really stomach and actually enjoy! Terrible isn't it 🤢 Hoping it passes for you all soon!! On the other hand I keep thinking it surely is a good sign 🤞🏼 ugh.. lol x

I sympathise.
I was diagnised with HG after weeks of suffering with constant nausea, vomiting, big weight loss and not being able to eat a thing.
It has honestly been miserable. I have never felt so low before and at times wondered why I had let this happen.
I finally plucked up the courage to contact my GP for help after a lovely lady on here told me losing over a stone in weight so quickly was not normal first trimester weight loss from morning sickness.
My GP was fab. Thet were sympathetic (more so than my midwife) and prescribed me meds to help.
Ive felt amazing since I started the meds.
I have had the odd day of feeling naff but its not constant.

All I can suggest is dont leave it as long as I did before you ask for help, if you feel you need it.
Try to keep hydrated. Weak squash helped me.
Small snacks, mainly the beige variety was all I could stomach. Dont let yourself get too hungry as youll only feel sicker later on.
Its rough, but its not forever and fingers crossed you feel better soon!

Hey op

I'm 5 weeks and suffering name!

With my first pregnancy I had seen morning sickness that went on for about 16 weeks. So I'm braced for a similar experience.

It's really hard.

This time I've asked the GP for help - they've prescribed omeprazole for the heartburn (it works!) and I'm going to ask for xonvea if the nausea continues. Xonvea is tested and licensed specifically for pregnancy so it's safe.

GPs seem unaware of it though so if you want it you will probably have to go armed with the information and the nice guidelines that say it's NOT just for HG but also for moderate illness.
