Unasking someone to be godfather

Hi. Me and my cousin were very close growing up and I asked him to be my sons godfather . Since I got pregnant a lot of stuff has happened between us and he is the least supportive person to me and my son. How do I tell him I don't want him to be my sons godfather . I don't wanna be rude about it either. But a lot has happened between us since I got pregnant and I don't want that toxic energy for my son.

Hi [cousin],
After taking some time to think about everything that has happened between us throughout my pregnancy, I no longer feel that it would be appropriate for you to be god father.
I want my child's god father to have our best interests at heart and I currently do not feel that that is the case.

I hope that you understand and we can remain friends.

When did you ask him? If it was something you said hypothetically before you ever got pregnant, I wouldn't bother mentioning it. He can assume all he like, but you won't be extending the invitation now.
