Is this vomiting anything to worry about? 3rd trimester/GD/trace of protein in urine??

I'm 30+3 and I think but I'm not sure if this is GD related. I was put on metformin a few weeks ago for high fasting sugars but felt quite nauseated and vomited once, it also wasn't helping my blood sugars so the consultant stopped it and started me on insulin. Started overnight insulin last week at 29+2, felt fine for a few days. On Monday started to feel ill again and was sick. Feel very nauseated tonight again and like I may be sick. My blood sugars are fine, my dose of insulin is very low. The thing that worries me is that at my last appointment at 29+2 they found a trace of protein in my urine. I only know because I saw it in my notes and my bp was ok so clearly they weren't worried enough to mention it to me.

So anyway I'm now wondering if this is just usual pregnancy stuff/usual GD stuff or something to actually worry about and do I need to call the midwife Confused

I didn't want to read this and run.

Gestational diabetes is linked to a higher risk of preeclampsia.

Feeling sick/vomiting suddenly is a symptom of preeclampsia. It's also just really common in pregnancy though and could be a variety of different things.

I would call your gp or midwife and speak to them. They need to take your blood pressure and do another dip stick.

A trace of protein can be due to a contaminated sample and is not necessarily cause for concern.

Are you able to check your blood pressure at home? If it is rising this is as much of a concern as high blood pressure.

See this from preeclampsia foundation:

You can't be too cautious with this and if you feel ill you need to get it checked. It's not worth messing about with.
