Sudden swollen ankles and feet advice

Hi, my friend had very swollen ankles and feet a couple of days ago all of a sudden. It's subsidised now. She has a lot on at the moment and didn't think she needed to seek urgent advice despite me urging her to in case it's pre-eclampsia. She's got a routine midwife appointment tomorrow anyway. I've said what I can and she isn't listening. She says it's hard to get through phoning her GP.

Do you think tomorrow is soon enough to get checked out? (NHS site says immediately!) Is the fact it's gone for now likely to be a good or a bad sign? Thank you.

Well if the NHS says immediately then she needs to call 111 (not the GP) and take their advice. And yes she needs to do that now.

I get swollen hands, feet and ankles in each pregnancy, the first time i was concerned but was told to record my BP measurements over the course of the day. I do not have pre eclampsia. She should invest in a BP machine, you can buy on amazon prime for delivery the next day or from a chemist.Otherwise she needs to watch out for pain under the ribs, headaches, nausea and vomiting, floters in her vision. These are the other signs of pre eclampsia. if she is at all concerned she should mention it to her midwife or gp. There is no harm in phoning 111 or even her midwife today to get a response, never hurts to be cautious.

Just to add, she's due late next month I think.
