Contract ends before DD - what to tell employer

I'm currently employed on a fixed term contract which ends 2 weeks before baby us due. I started this job when I was already pregnant and did tell my new manager immediately when I got the job offer.
My question now is, do I officially need to tell my employer (ie HR) at some point that I'm pregnant? I won't be eligible for maternity pay or SMP but maybe I need to let them know, eg by handing in my MAT B1?
I'd be grateful for any advice!

Sorry I don't have much advice OP as I'm not sure but wanted to say to have a look at eligibility for maternity allowance if you're not entitled to SMP, depending how long you've worked there/what you did before this job you may be eligible for that.

As you will be leaving the job prior to the baby being born I don't think you need to do much, unless you're wanting to finish up for maternity leave sooner than the 2 weeks which I believe you're still entitled to do.

I would make them aware though as they will still need to do a risk assessment for you if they haven't done so already

From experience, I just missed the qualifying cut off date for SMP when I had DC and my contract was due to end around my due date. I needed a letter from my employer to state I wasn’t eligible for SMP to get Maternity Allowance and that process was triggered by me giving them the MATB1 form.

You should tell them so they can carry out a maternity risk assessment and as others have said in case you qualify for MA

Give them a copy of MAT B1. They need to provide a form to you saying you don't qualify for SMP. You will send both of those in to get maternity allowance which is £157 a week. This is for people who can't get SMP. There is no 6 weeks at 90%.

I had the opposite stayed with the old employer too long finishing up client work for my new employer. Missed it by 4 weeks, ironically the extra time I stayed to be a good employee.
