Hi I just want some advice. I want to go on holiday for 5 days and the flight is 3 hours I will be coming up to 30 weeks pregnant when I fly. Has anyone else gone abroad at 30 weeks?

You shouid be five.

I didn't fly quite that far along in pregnancy, but it was a longer flight. Book the roomiest seat you can and hope the loo is a decent size

The vital thing is excellent insurance, because even a little illness/accident could take you beyond the last safe fit to fly dates, or you might deliver early. So the insurance also needs to cover the baby once born, just in case. Check this carefully.

Yes I went on two 4-5 hour flights at around 30-31 weeks. It was fine but I needed to be signed off as fit to fly by my midwife at the insistence of the airline and I had to show proof of this at the gates before boarding. I think any woman flying over 28 weeks needs to be signed off by their doctor/midwife beforehand.

Why would you fly when you don’t need to? Why take the risk?

Thanks for replying. I will speak to my midwife about it to get a medical certificate

Because actually my fiancé is not from the same country as me and we have some important things in his country to do. He also had covid aswell at the beginning of my pregnancy. I asked advice from people who have flown whilst pregnant. You shouldn't just assume that I don't need to fly
