Flying BA do I need fit to fly letter?

I'll fly to a place in the UK at 26 week of pregnancy (back 28+1). I'm a low risk and will have all my pregnancy notes with me. Did anyone fly with BA and know if they also require a fit to fly letter from midwife or GP? Their website just says they recommend it, and that it's not possible to fly after 36 weeks.

If the website says they recommend it I would get one. Your midwife can do it. Far better to have it and not need it. Check their covid policy too and make sure you print the information on their website and take it with you. IME the check in staff frequently do not know what is on the website and will ask for documents you didn't know you needed. And check the rules for the country you are visiting. check both again before you fly back as the rules can and do change.

Oh sorry, just realised you are not leaving the UK, so the covid regulations don't apply.

Thanks, I'm not flying abroad so the covid rules are ok. I'll ask my midwife when I see her.

I last flew when pregnant with my first at 27 weeks. I asked the midwife and she said better to have the letter just in case. She post dated one for my return a week later as well. As it was, noone asked me for it, but I felt much better knowing I had it :-)

Thanks @SillyBry, in this case I'll make sure I have one just in case. :)

I used to work for an airline (not BA) and from experience it's best to have one to hand just in case! You never know what difficult airport staff you can come across!

@mariebaby3, thank you for your advice.
I spoke to my midwife and she said to ask GP as she can't issue it. I'll talk to GP and worst case scenario try a private one. I feel like this should be easier and standardised :)
