I need reassurance - baby not grown in last 2 weeks - static fundal growth??

Hi there -
Im turning to mn in my hour of need.
Im 30 weeks preg and just been for a routine visit to midwife.
She measured my tummy and measurement for fundal height is exactly the same as 2 weeks ago. She has referred to this in my notes as "static fundal growth".
She did say the baby was lying across ways (transverse) and this could be why measurement is such but she has made an appt for me to have a scan tomorrow.
I have just scared myself stupid by googling "static fundal growth" and this is the first thing i came up with :

"In this example, the measurement is identical in two measurements separated by 2 weeks. We would consider this to be an abnormal pattern, and should prompt referral for ultrasound assessment. Static growth has the same significance whether the original measurement is above the 90th Centile, on the 50th, or on the 10th Centile. The potential impaction is static fetal growth, and possibly also reduced liquor volume, both of which are associated with intrauterine death."

Now beside myself with worry.
I am going to start counting movements.
Up till now thought all was fine and dandy, thought i was feeling baby moving lots, and thought my bump was huge and healthy.
Now i feels scared and panicky.

A mumsnet group hug and advice needed asap
Thanks xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

. Sorry! That was worse-case scenario... Its just that when you are worrying about something it can be quite hard when everyone piles in and says "no, stop worrying it will be ok". It might not be, but even if its really bad (cs tomorrow!) it will still be "ok". Honest.

I'm 29 wks and have been living with the possibility of a haemorrhage and swift cs for 6 weeks now. I'm starting to think that a cs at about 32 weeks would be rather lovely...

PCM, jsut popped over from the Jan thread to say hi, and another "don't worry" (fat lot of good that is!) Fruitful is right, babies born at 30 weeks have OVER a 90% chance of having no long term problems... but this is a total WORST CASE SCENARIO and VERY UNLIKELY! all i can say is half the people i meet tell me i'm completely huge (i'm 29 weeks) and the other half tell me i'm tiny and really neat... take your pick! for what it's worth no one has ever come near me with a tape measure either, midwife (v experienced, lovely) just says i'm "fine" for dates but doesn't seem to compare tummy to anything she's noted previously!
Let us know how you go, sending hugs.... lolo xx

The best piece of pregnancy advice I've had so far was from a woman who had her kids at 39 and 41.

She said whatever you do, NEVER EVER Google anything because it will just freak you out. The internet has a knack of making incredibly rare conditions sound common, and if you have any concerns always speak to your doctor.

Most of the stuff you read on the internet is less likely to happen to you than winning the lottery for three consecutive weeks.

hi all
Sorry didnt mean to worry anyone! Trace, i just txt you.
Well we had scan yesterday and everything is just peachy - Thank the Lord!!!!!
Everyone was lovely at the prg day care unit, i had my scan, and scan lady said everything looked absolutely fine with the baby. They took lots of measurements - head circumferance, abdomen, c to rump length etc, and said baby is ok with no problems. Perfectly average size, not too big not too small and measuring spot on the 50th centile. As you can imagine I am a much much happier mummy-to-be today!!! I have to go again for a further scan in 2 weeks to make sure baby has grown further, but i shall not worry so much again when the community midwife brandishes her tape measure!!
Thank you all so much for your words of wisdom
