I had a scan yesterday to check the position of my placenta which thankfully has moved completely so good news but then she told me I have too much fluid and would need to pass my nota onto a doctor who will be ringing me today! This is my third baby and not had this problem he's already 5lb at 32 weeks too! I stupidly looked up online about too much fluid and saw some scary things now I'm in panic mode anyone else had too much fluid and it been okay? Did they induce you early? Xx

I did. I was told it was a certainty I’d go into labour around 6 weeks early due to fluid volume and that I needed to be in hospital when I went into labour. Anyway long story short, went into labour at just 39.5 weeks. Size of a whale and when my water broke it was like Niagara Falls.

They didn’t want to induce me earlier as my baby was the opposite in weight, very small and had issues requiring surgery at birth and surgeons like them as big as possible. The strategy was to drain fluid as needed rather than induce. I had a natural labour and it was fine. Extremely wet but fineGrin.

Ohhh I see the doctor has told me not to worry and the fluid amount isn't loads more than it should be but she wants me to keep an eye in case I'm loosing fluids and of my fluid levels are the same or gone up next week then we will be making a plan seeing as baby is already 5lb they weren't concerned about his growth! Oh gosh I bet it was my waters didn't break naturally with my first 2 but she said it's more likely they will with this one considering his weight and the extra water! Xx

Polyhydramnios is not always bad for pregnancy.
I've had it with 2 singletons and milder with one of our twins too. It didn't cause any problems at all during pregnancy or birth. They were worried about cord prolapse with our 2nd as his were very high and he was huge so they refused to break waters for over a day while I was in slow labour, it was like a waterfall once they did break them lol. They put it down to big babies for me, funnily enough the 3 that had it all have the same blood group and our 2 that didn't have another blood group. Our twins were both estimated 5lb at 32wk, they were 8lb 5oz & 8lb 11oz born at 38wk.

@Chelyanne thank you! I shouldn't of read google lol but I didn't have a clue what to expect just got told to wait for a phone call but they've told me not to worry and they are keeping an eye on it! Oh gosh they were good weights then that's good both my girls were just over 7lb and both 9 days late so this little boy is a chunk at 5lb at 32 weeks lol. That's strange about the blood groups tho. @Mylasmummy2102

Sorry this is an older thread but I'm going through somethings similar right now. My first baby at 33 weeks midwife appt my bump was measuring big well above 90th centile at 38cm. So they sent me hospital for growth scan while they scanned saw baby boy is 5lb 2oz estimated and I have excess fluid. Sent me to day care where all the midwives told me not to be worried which inevetibally made me worry. They booked me in for a rescan to see if there's any changes. I just wondered how it went with you? Was your LO quite big and everything was OK with fluid in end? Thanks x
