Hey! Wanted to ask does anyone have any good recipes or meals they’d like to share?
I’m nearly 24 weeks but I’m still having an awful aversion to veg in finding it really hard to eat it without throwing up still, but fruit is all good eating that like normal but probably still not getting enough!
I’ve been awful all I’ve done is eat fast food and junk food, I’m definitely (and really ashamed) having one too many takeaways and to try and get veg in I’m eating like hidden veggie pasta but can’t keep living off that nearly everyday now too! So anyone who’s had veggie aversions still now this late into pregnancy please help me out, I need to stop the junk food and start eating a lot more healthy than I am. Thanks :)

I’ve done another thread as I misspelled diet in the title and it looks like it has nothing to do with diet! 😂 thanks!

I'm 20 weeks and still cannot stand green leafy veg 🤢.

I've been having chopped salads for lunch: peppers, cucumbers, cherry toms etc. (Ie things I can stomach) and homemade vegetable soups.

Arla protein yogurts have been helpful for when meat and fish were unappealing. Jacket potatoes and tuna, really simple food.

I really hoped some of my food aversions would be gone by now!

Soups are a great way to get veg in!

You can add some veg to spag bol sauce.

Finely chopped veg in omelettes.

Thanks guys!
@Kat1112025 veg soup sounds great to be honest and a good way to get veg in without actually crunching into them - omg even saying that is making me want to throw up 😅 - I know I was hoping it’d be over by now nearly 24 weeks but all I want is junk food all day every day 😭
@Astronaut8 I’m definitely going to try veggie soups! They actually sound nice, with some lovely bread too 🤤 thanks again!

Smoothie? Can add things like carrot and spinach, might be bearable if you add something a bit sweeter like frozen raspberries or strawberries.

I make a tomato sauce in the slow cooker by bunging various things in - usually onion, carrot, celery, maybe sweet potato, handful of lentils, peppers etc. Two tins of tomatoes and a splash of water and then whizz it up. You could also throw some frozen spinach in a couple of hours before the end. Good for pasta but also pizza or as a sauce over chicken. If you make your own pizza dough and have healthy veggie tomato sauce it might help satisfy the junk craving but in a healthier way!

Casseroles? If it’s crunchy veg you’re struggling with then would it help if the veg was softer? You could try upping your pulses and grains as well as they could help compensate with nutrients if you’re struggling with veg

I'm the exact same, normally a healthy eater but atm even the thought of vegetables makes me feel sick.

I've been trying to get green juices and just drink them to get it over with. I also buy bags of baby carrots and peas to snack on at work, I find that makes it easier when it's mindless.

Not sure if same for you but I totally went off cooked veggies but was OK with salads. So would make a big salad with things like grated carrot, sweetcorn, cherry tomatoes, rocket etc. If having for dinner then baked salmon or grilled chicken with it. Raw carrots with dips as a snack. Agree with a pp about veggie soup, it was the only way I could have stuff like broccoli without heaving, I used to chuck extra herbs etc in so it didn't taste much like actual broccoli.

Also a handful of spinach in smoothies, turns it green but barely alters the taste.

Another v easy thing is homemade pizza. We make a dough literally out of flour and yoghurt, chuck a load of typical pizza veg on and when it's topped with cheese it becomes a lot easier to stomach the veg! Same with nachos, we put peppers and kidney beans etc in ours and make a home made guac. So again the only unhealthy bit is the cheese, oh and the actual nachos I guess but hey its still better than a takeaway.

Im totally the same..normally eat really healthy and I’ve eaten almost all beige food or fast food due to horrible morning sickness! I’ve found some veg are easier than others as some are more stodgy / comfort foody like sweet potato chili with kidney beans and loads of cheese and rice! Still loads of carbs but slightly healthier at least.

I also put raw spinach in a banana and almond butter smoothie as you can’t taste it at all and good for iron etc.

Mostly though I just want bread or plain pasta with cheese 😱

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I’m really grateful, I will be trying a lot of these this week now!
I’ve been having fruit smoothies as I’ve been loving them at the moment so I have a mango, spinach and orange juice smoothie nearly everyday for ages now haha, I will try all these so I can stop having McDonald’s nuggets nearly everyday day (these cravings are no good 😩) and have something different to veggie pasta every night haha.
I think it’s just veg in general which is awful like wether it’s cooked or not cooked just the site of it still makes me want to throw up and I’ve tried on serval occasions now where I’ve tried to eat veg again raw or cooked and I’ve throw up still 😩 only seems to work if it’s hidden and I can’t actually taste it!
