Groin pain in early pregnancy?

Hello!
I'm 6 weeks (+1) pregnant and since last last night I have been having intermittent mild stabbing pains in my groin area on just the left side. It took me by surprise the first time it happened and has had me slightly worried. I went to the doctor's this morning and he didn't seem to think there was much to worry about and said it is most likely due to changes in my body but I can't stop worrying. Just wondered if anyone knew about this or has experienced anything similar? Just some reassurance would be amazing.
Thanks!

I’ve had this since 5+4, I’m 7+4 today. Some days it’s pretty constant, some days it doesn’t happen at all. It’s just my uterus stretching, apparently, and nothing of concern. Sometimes it’s relieved by going to the toilet, so I guess it’s just a bit tight in there right now!

It’s a common symptom but I was really anxious about it initially too Flowers

Hi @pearlsandpetals

I am 8 weeks and have had a one sided pain since around 4 weeks. I’ve had a couple of scans and have a cystic corpus luteum which is the cause of the pain. It is in a very specific place on my left side which is also the side I ovulated from. The sonographer told me that many women have this and the pain will reduce by about 12 weeks once it reabsorbs. Paracetamol makes it almost painless. Obviously everyone is different though.

I had this at 8wks and it lasted just over a week, I thought at the time it was due to a large fibroid I was diagnosed with at the time but the pain has just returned today (at 25wks) so likely just everything needing to move and stretch. Good you have been checked by the GP, if you are still concerned see if you can see EPU or have an early scan.
