Moles / seborrheic keratosis in pregnancy

Has anyone noticed mole changes in pregnancy? I have lots of seborrheic keratoses (crusty wart like growths that are benign) and noticed them getting larger and some small new ones forming. Any one else had weird things like this?

Hi there,
I know changes in moles are very common during pregnancy, however for me, mine was melanoma.
Any changes to moles need to be checked, so please speak to your gp.
My melanoma was luckily caught early, in situ, and the only treatment I required was the large excision and full photographing of my body (which I use as a base reference every month when I pose naked for hubby to zoom in on all my flaws Blush). My baby was 4months old when I was diagnosed...very scary and took a long time to get used to it all.
That was 3 years ago and I am now 31wks pregnant and still check every month....luckily no changes as yet but will be straight in contact with my SCN if I notice any.
Please get them looked at....early detection and removal is vital and I would hate for anyone to go through the mental anguish I did.
Xx

Skin stuff happened in pregnancy yes but not moles or SKs especially.

I'm pretty comfortable with my occasional seborrheic keratoses & sounds like OP is, too. How often do you get them, OP? I probably get one appearing about once every 2 yrs, but I'm 50+ now, I read they get more common as we age.

That skin doctor programme on telly is brilliant for showing all the weird skin things that people can get (benign & manageable).

Yes Loads of SK's and skin tags :( Am booked in to have the skin tags removed later this month, I hate them.

Candy when you had the all over photo, did you just do that yourself?

Candyflosscrochet · 08/05/2021 20:01

@1990s
No it was done by the hospital, proper medical photos that you can zoom in so close you can see tiny hairs and pores and all the wrinkles!!
But your own photos are good with cameras nowadays, or there's an app called mii skin that you can photo and log moles etc. Xx
