Hi ladies

I’m sure this thread has probably been posted a million times before but I’m just looking to see if anyone else has been in a similar situation and would be willing to share their experiences!

I’ve just turned 35 weeks and had a midwife appointment today where I was found to be measuring 40 weeks. I have a scan tomorrow to see if there is any reason for this but I was just looking to see if anyone had been in a similar situation and what the outcome was e.g. nothing required, early sweeps, induction, c section etc? Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated!

Thank you Smile

Not me but my friend was measuring bigger, she was induced and baby was only 7lb!

Yep, measured massive the whole way through. Growth scans told me to expect a 9lb baby with a 98th centile tummy and head and tiny little legs. She was born 6lb 2 and only her head centile was right! No tummy on her so no idea how they got it so wrong. So basically don't stress. Bump measurement notoriously unreliable and growth scans aren't much better!

I was told 10lb+ at 40 weeks and had growth scans etc, she was 8lb4 at 41 weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you all for the reassurance - much appreciated!

Hi op just wondering if they did induce you or anything?

Currently measuring 4 weeks ahead also!

Not the most accurate so don't worry until after they scan you.

I was way ahead on fundal height with our 2nd. He was 4wk ahead on growth scans with polyhydramnios. The consultants were not too worried tbh, were going to let me go 2 weeks overdue before induction. I was checked at 39+6wk and 1cm so they expected him to come soon after. I went in hospital at 40+4wk 5cm dilated, they refused to break waters due to fluid levels and cord prolapse risk. Still 5cm the next day and after a lot of nagging they agreed to break waters. He had meconium in waters but arrived 2hr 19mins later with 14 mins of unassisted pushing, 10lb 12oz!! He gave me a break and slept 8 hours that night (good lad), midwife scolded me for that in the morning. 3rd was a breeze to birth after him lol.

I am 38+2 and my measurements have been off the graph. Sent me for a scan at 36 weeks which put him bang average.

They may find you are carrying extra fluid, or baby is perfectly normal. If they still think baby is big they might offer you an induction but based on the stories I’ve read they are so inaccurate I would personally refuse.

I measured 40 weeks by 30 weeks. I had polyhydrammonis (spelt wrong know idea of the correct spelling 😂)
My was hereditary as my mother and grandmother by had the same thing. I was induced at 37 weeks, but had a c section at 37+6 they said I had a huge baby 7lb exactly. Not so big
Don’t worry about it the scan aren’t prefect.
