Hello 😃 this is my second baby for weeks now I have had this terrible shooting pain down below when I’m walking literally like a lightening bolt going right through my bladder. Midwife just keeps saying it’s pressure I never got it with my first šŸ¤” it’s so painful is anyone else experiencing this ? X

Your midwife seems unhelpful and quite ignorant. have been seeing a chiropractor to prevent my pain getting worse. It sounds like SPD and physio can help even at this point. MW should have referred you to a women's health physio. They have urgent appointments here for women in your kind of pain.

There are a number of nerves and ligament that go through the pelvis that move / reposition / are put under pressure during pregnancy. It sounds like something is out of line.

I would see an osteopath / physio but mostly I would look up side lying release, forward cleaning inversion and jiggling on the spinning babies website and see if any of these help. (You will need someone to help you do these)

The side lying release gently stretches the psoas muscle which goes inside the pelvis. The inversion allows the tendons supporting the uterus to relax as the pressure is lifted off them and as long as you come straight back up and remain upright with your hips over your knees (ie don't sit back on your heels) for a few breaths, this should hopefully unravel any knots.

Then.. get at fit ball that allows your hips to be higher than your knees and sit in that rather than a ridgid chair or slouchy sofa and also look at the lateral lying position to support your body at night.

It sounds like PGP or SPD, OP. How do you feel if you are turning over in bed, for example?

It could be pressure or round ligament pain because you are close to birth but the fact it's there when you walk sounds it could be PGP. I am 29 weeks and have had it a few months now. It is painful when I walk, sometimes when beginning down, and any time when I'm twisting or something like turning over in bed or getting in or out of a car.

Thanks for the replies! I don’t feel it when I’m turning in bed or anything it’s just when I walk I get this awful shooting pain right up the middle of like my womb it’s so weird! Midwife has been off this week and I’m 38 weeks tomorrow I feel like it’s to late to try anything now it’s making me terrified of labour 😩
