Hi ladies I don't know what I'm wanting to achieve through this post I'm just so lost atm. Me and my husband have been ttc for 2 year. In them 2 year I've had 9 chemical pregnancy loses. I've had all tests which have come back normal although I'm adamant something must be wrong. I'm Currently going through my 9th and I feel like giving up like its never going to happen. The Dr's want me to keep trying for the next 2 year before they will refer me to a specialist. Has anyone been through this or have any tips? T.i.a x

How old are you? Four years sounds like a long time to wait before referral.

PinkCookie11 · 26/04/2021 13:45

I would keep going to your dr.
9 is a lot, basically CP are very early miscarriages how are they not wanting you checked?!
Can you afford private?
I would be foaming being told to wait another 2 year, keep getting onto them op it’s not fair or right

Icklemissgem · 26/04/2021 13:54

I am so sorry for your losses.
I have had 4 chemicals in the last 5 months and my GP has referred me to a recurrent miscarriage clinic now, our appointment isn’t until June so can’t say what they will do/say but I would definitely push for a referral if you can. I can’t believe that after 9 they are not willing to help that’s so bad 😞

I'm 27 and a really long time indeed. My Dr's just basically aren't interested I'm given a blood test and told to go home. X

Unfortunately I can't afford private I would have gone in a heartbeat if I could have 😢
I'm so fed up I feel like there's definitely something wrong but they keep telling me to just 'see how I go'. X

Sorry for yours too. Its a horrible thing to go through and to keep going through I'm in the process of changing Dr's so I'm hoping the new ones may help a bit more. They're useless the ones I'm with I had a gynecology appointment after my 3rd. They didn't do any scans or anything they went off old scans I had done due to painful periods. All they did was my bloods and sent me packing. I will keep pushing though thank you. And good luck with everything x

I would get a second opinion from another GP. There are many women who are referred to the recurrent miscarriage teams for fewer chemicals. There is something not quite right somewhere and it needs investigating sooner rather than later. You may be young but that is not a good reason for them to make you wait so long.
Good luck.

I'd definitely speak to another gp as 9 chemicals is a lot. Quite a few women have success with taking progesterone as soon as they have a positive test to help the pregnancy along, as well as low dose aspirin. Might be worth asking about them.

PinkCookie11 · 26/04/2021 19:21

Yeah I would go back and ask for another gp.
It’s ridiculous to be honest. Sorry your having to go through this Flowers

Have you considered trying a low dose aspirin?

I had 4 miscarriages in the last year and after 3 I was referred to a fertility specialist.

All blood tests and scans came back normal, as did my partners semen analysis so they said nothing they could do.

During my fourth loss I did a lot of my own research into how aspirin can help with early miscarriages.

I decided that next cycle I would take it from ovulation and so I did just that.

I took 150mg a day from 1dpo and am now currently 19 weeks pregnant.

I totally credit the aspirin as I did nothing else any differently.

From the very start it just felt like this pregnancy was different. My test lines were strong and early, I got my positive at 8dpo and things progressed perfectly. An early scan at 5+4 showed a heartbeat.

At my booking appointment my midwife confirmed with a consultant that it was ok for me to continue on the aspirin and he confirmed yes, 150mg a day is the new nhs recommended amount and that if I hadn’t already started taking it, he would have put me on it. I’m now to continue on it until around 36 weeks.

I’d reached the stage after 4 losses that I was willing to try anything. I can’t begin to imagine how you feel after 9 losses and 2 years of it.

You really should be referred after 3 losses so you should try to push for it.

Many women are also put on progesterone in early pregnancy. After my scan at 5+4 where they saw a heartbeat the EPU started me on it, even though my progesterone levels had come back great during tests. I took that until 16 weeks. But as I said because my levels were already good, it’s the aspirin I credit for getting me this far.

Thank you all for the replies. I'm waiting until my new Dr accepts me as a patient then hopefully I might get somewhere. I have tried aspirin but it was 75mg? Maybe I will try the 150 and see if that will help thank you x
