Hi mums!

Sorry if there's a thread about this already I've only just joined Blush but I was induced with DD1 at 40+12 and my DD2 was supposed to arrive 23/04 I wasn't expecting her to come on time either as I've read that babies tend to follow a pattern.

I'm due to be induced on Friday and I wouldn't mind that as much as I had a positive induction experience last time however, with all the covid rules I'm worried I'll have to be alone for the majority of it, I suffer vaginismus and exams and such are really hard for me as it is, so was really hoping to avoid inducing again with covid going on and mostly I'm scared that DH will miss the birth! I know that's extreme but it only took 4 hours (after established labour, 6 hours in total after pessary was insured) with DD1 and I'm just worried it'll be even quicker this time round as I've read that a lot and he'll not be allowed in or something Sad did anyone else get induced after the restrictions eased? Or anyone else start naturally before induction? I'm really hoping for the latter option. I've done all the myths I did with DD1 and I honestly don't think anything can bring on labourSad but I was just wondering if any mums started before they were due to be induced naturally or had any birth stories from lockdown rules? Thanks in advance Smile

I posted about this the other day as I’m in same position (due 22/04) but they’re not inducing til the 4th or 5th :( so no advice or wisdom just feel your concern/worry. There was a mix of ladies who were induced/natural second time round who replied. Good luck, fingers crossed you go soon.

Dd1 was induced and my labour was long. Not hard or particularly difficult just very long.
Dd2 came 4 hours before she was due to be induced - that's her all over, no one tells her what to do lol. Labour was much quicker 13 mins.
Dd3 was induced for lack of movement. She took a long time to get going but once she did labour was the quickest 4 mins.
I'm afraid dd3 is now 2 so I have no experience of covid births.
Yes not being induced is quicker and less interference but my second induction wasn't bad. I knew what was going on more, my body knew what was going on more and even dd3 seemed to know how to do it better than dd1. Just focus on holding baby as the rest of it is out of your hands. Easier said than done I know.

Awh I would have liked to have had a bit more time to see if things went on by themselves, especially since my OG EDD was the 30th until my 12 week scan but I was told they don't allow past 41 weeks now Sad
