Intense back pain

Hi all.
I'm 36 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby.

For the past week I've been having waves of lower back pain and tightening which I've assumed is braxton hicks.

This morning its far more painful and happening more frequently. It takes my breath away and is bringing tears to my eyes.

Am I right in thinking if this was related to labour I'd have more pain around the front than back?

I havent had a show and as far as I know there's been no leaking of waters.

Am I fairly safe to assume this is just my baby pushing down and moving into place?

My last pregnancy ended at 30 weeks, so I'm a bit anxious.

Where is your placenta? My friend had an anterior placenta and had intense back pain during labour. I also have an anterior placenta and get frequent back pain, though not what you're describing.

@HumunaHey thanks for replying.
I have a posterior placenta this time.

I've never gone past 37 weeks. Im having a planned C section at 39 weeks so I'm really hoping this is just pregnancy related back pain. Desperately want to reach my planned date.

I’d start timing them. I felt my first solely in my back.

Guess its not that due to placenta position then.

If the pain is bringing you to tears, you should call triage. You can get checked out and ensure all is well or, that necessary action can be taken. The sooner you call the better. Hope everything turns out to be ok 💐.

Sorry for your previous loss Flowers
Definitely call triage. Hopefully they'll check all is well for peace of mind given your history.
It could be labour though! Mine felt very different second time around compared to first.

It could be the baby moving rather than labour but also it could be the start of labour. Labour can be felt in the back and if it is, I would suggest looking at the first two positions in this circuit to help the baby reposition. www.milescircuit.com/the-circuit.html

Given the fact that you have had previous early labour and a still birth, I would call triage and ask to come in for them to monitor the baby.
