Going home outfit for baby.!

So my third baby is due in July providing I don't have to have a section at 36 weeks due to low lying placenta but will find that out in a couple weeks.

My other 2 children were born in February and September so they just wore a sleep suit home. Obviously going to be warmer in July (UK) what did you put your baby in when they left the hospital?

My last baby was born in May and I just put him in a sleep suit, little cotton hat and cardigan.

I'm also due in July and have low lying placenta so in the boat as you. I'm planning on baby wearing a sleep suit and cotton hat. I'll probably bring a cardigan and blanket just in case as if you're discharged quite late it could still be chilly for a baby.

I'm due my first in two weeks, but I've gone with comfy and cute - a plain vest for underneath, a sleepsuit, matching hat and matching muslin blanket for if it's a bit chilly that day. I wanted something cute but not fussy and a few options for layering just in case the weather isn't right!

Just a sleep suit, vest & hat, it was early May but a bit of a heatwave. We had a blanket in case it was chilly

Caspianberg · 23/04/2021 10:58

A sleepsuit and vest still minimum. They will be cold even in heat the first few days as they adjust. Take cardigan and small blanket incase cooler.

Baby was born May last year. It was pretty toasty here, but I would say it wasn’t until he was 6+ weeks that he didn’t get freezing cold quickly if not enough layers. Ie dh and I in T-shirt and jeans, but he still needed extra pair socks under sleepsuit, vest and cardigan

@Warrickdaviesasplates oh no it's a pain isn't it I'm praying mine has moved by the 10th may so they say I don't have to have a section hope yours moves too!

Thank you ladies I'll pack a few options knowing my luck it will probably rain seeing as it's July 🤣

I’d say a vest, sleepsuit and hat with a little knitted cardigan or jacket. And a blanket for when you leave hospital

My 3rd was due in July, born end of June. That week was a bit chilly so he had vest, sleepsuit, cadigan and a light hat.Blanket on top.
Prince George was born few weeks later,it was rather hot and he was just wrapped in a muslin squareGrin

Have bodysuit, sleepsuit, cardigan, hat and thin blanket with you and layer as needed on the day.

BertieBotts · 23/04/2021 12:27

I had an August baby, you still need vest and sleepsuit as they can't regulate their body temperature well for the first few days.

Worriesome · 23/04/2021 13:12

My last baby was born in July and I put a baby vest, cotton sleep suit and wee fleece jacket on her x

Worriesome · 23/04/2021 13:13

Sorry forgot to add a hat as well! And I’m sure we had a wee blanket over her knees too in the car seat x

We are thinking this little outfit. It’s our first, & we are only planning on one, so whilst it makes more sense to keep it simple, we figured sod it, extra we shall be.

(I should note I have three different coming home outfits in her bag, but this one is my favourite)
