Baby wedged under my ribs?

I'm not really sure what this will achieve but I'm hoping someone has maybe experienced something similar and can ease my worry!

36 weeks and this little one is suspected breech (scan on Monday to confirm). I've always felt something tight below my ribs, which is likely to be little ones head but never caused me too much bother.. However, within the past hour, I'm pretty sure something is now wedged under my right rib cage?! So much so, I can't take a deep breath in or even sit up without being extremely uncomfortable. The only bearable position right now is lying down leaning over to my left to make room on the right! 🤯

Has anyone experienced this before? Please tell me this baby will likely move soon because I'm not sure I could cope if this was long term!? I don't mind being uncomfortable, but it's the thought of not being able to take big breaths & the pain that comes with it that's concerning me...

I have! My little baby stayed wedged there until delivered by CS at 37 weeks. The tinker was well and truly stuck there and I remember the surgeons saying during the section "we're just going to have to lift part of the ribs"... Confused

It was totally fine though. I know what feeling you mean. Don't panic!

@ZAUK oh god! 🤐 I suppose I better get comfy then 🤣

I'm pleased everything was ok for you though! 🤞 It's reassuring to hear.

Mine wasn't breech but some part of her was wedged up there good and proper towards the end.

I still get occasional random cramps/discomfort in that spot. She's 5 in September 🙈

@Frlrlrubert bless you! She well and truly left her mark then 😂

Yes me from about 28 weeks all the way to the end! Midwives kept telling me he would move but apart from the odd shuffle around that was always the position he returned. I only put on about 10lbs in the whole pregnancy as in the first half I had severe nausea and the second he just pressed in all the wrong places so I had constant heart burn. Not sure what to suggest but I offer my sympathies!

My boy twin who happened to be born 6 weeks early weighing nearly 7lb was wedged side ways under my ribs - his sister was tiny so I guess he took up all the food and space! Anyway it became very uncomfortable to the point even lying down I felt breathless and my DH filmed my snoring as it was sooo loud 🤣 and I refused to believe him. Lying on my side helped a lot

Thank you ladies. I think the general consensus is that this little one will be there for the foreseeable! 🤐😂

I don't mind, as long as they're happy! I think I just panicked because I felt like I couldn't breath properly! But now I'm more relaxed it seems to be more manageable. Thanks for your stories! ☺️

My friends baby was breech and was wedged between her mothers ribs and edge of her pelvis with her feet by her face. She was born via Cs at 39 weeks perfectly healthy.
Mine was not breech but had no room from 28 weeks so got stuck under my ribs, he was born at 36 weeks via Cs, he was nearly twice the size of his older brother at 5lb 3oz
