Anyone know , if I can bring my 7 month old twins to hospital appointment , I have a scan tomorrow at 7 weeks due to bleeding , however nobody can get day of work to look after the boys , am I going to have to cancel appointment and re arrange or do you think I'll be able to take the twins ?
Have tried calling hospital but no answer

Even pre Covid you couldn’t take children to hospital scans- if no one else can watch them you will need for rearrange

Time is app?
Do you have time to ring in morning?
Ive seen women with kids at my hosp for scans, so they may let you but best checking.
Their young enough so will be in pram so can’t see why not. Take snacks!!

Most maternity units wouldn't have allowed this even pre-covid. It's never been allowed at our local hospital.

I really doubt they'd allow this now. There was recently a thread where an op wasn't seen because she'd brought her child with her, and children are not currently allowed at all due to covid restrictions and safety concerns.

I wouldn't risk it op.

I’ve been to EPU recently (last week) for a scan due to bleeding in early pregnancy. It’s point blank no children, my husband was struggling to get time off to look after our toddler and they said if he couldn’t they would reschedule my appointment

Sorry and hope all is okay with your pregnancy

FelicityPike · 19/04/2021 19:12

No. Most units don’t allow this.

If they are 7 months old presumably they will be strapped into a buggy, if you have no other choice I would just go, if you have to rearrange it makes no difference if you get there and do it or do so over the phone.

Keep trying to call them so you don't have a wasted journey, but if you can't get through then I would turn up anyway.

Seems like up north do it wrong then 😂

Highly unlikely to allow you to take them but it's worth ringing and asking.

I had to go to epu recently and ours was no extra people at all for scans and a big sign up saying categorically no children. Can you look at trust website? Ours has the info on there
