Skincare during pregnancy

I recently found out I'm pregnant and need to purchase some new skin cream that is safe to use when pregnant. I have acne scarring which I usually use a retinol cream under moisturiser. I know I'm unable to use retinol now so does anyone recommend any products that i could try. Maybe not to treat acne scarring as I can't see any treatment cream that looks safe, but maybe just for some sort of glow?

@Curlymam88 I’m pretty sure you can use glycolic acid when pregnant. Maybe look into that ☺️ The Pixi Glow Tonic is meant to be good, although not tried it myself. I’ve been really cautious with skincare in pregnancy and mostly just use all natural stuff x

I’ve had to stop using my Medik8 retinol but still use Sunday Riley Juno which has a vitamin A substitute that’s safe to use in pregnancy 😊

Ps you can use all other skin products apart from retinol or any form of vitamin A.
Have a look at Caroline Hiron she’s the skin care queen and has a blog/IG page she’s brilliant!

Tea tree face washes are good for acne, for everyday moisturiser just Nivea will do x

I’ve read that bakuchiol acts a bit like a retinol subsitute and that’s safe to use in pregnancy l.

I’m currently using a salicylic acid toner (Paulas choice) and benzoyl peroxide cream (acnecide) followed by an Ole Henrikson bakuchiol & AHA serum and then basic moisturiser (Avene) at night, and in the morning the toner again followed by hyaluronic acid serum (Hada Labo) vit c serum, same moisturiser then sunscreen. My skins actually looking the best and clearest it has for ages.

I’m pretty sure salicylic is ok as it’s basically paracetamol which is safe to take orally in pregnancy, and the other ingredients are definitely ok.

My vit c serum is almost finished so thinking of replacing it with Dr Sam’s brightly serum which again has bakuchiol (which is ok to use in daytime unlike retinol), an antioxidant and some other good ingredients and they state it’s safe in pregnancy.

Sorry that’s a bit long but I’m also acne prone and skincare is very important to me so I’ve thought about it a lot!

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to have a Google at some of products mentioned 😊

I think nicinamide is supposed to be good for pigmentation/ acne marks too. I’d second looking at Caroline Hirons’ blog for some ideas (her cheat sheets are good), also Nadine Dorries is very good on active ingredients- she’s on Instagram and YouTube.
