My induction / section is booked for Friday week when I’ll be 37+6. DS is at nursery full time and DH is working out of the house. Realistically this is the most free time that I’m going to have to myself until the children are significantly older.

So what shall I do?! Hit me with your suggestions for spending the next fortnight in carefree abandon Grin

Sun bathe where possible.

PinkCookie11 · 16/04/2021 16:19

Sleep, eat, pamper, relax, watch your fave films!
Anything you’ll maybe miss once baby is here

giletrouge · 16/04/2021 16:20

Sleep.
Sleep.
Sleep,
And sleep.

recreationalcalpol · 16/04/2021 16:20

The only thing I can’t do is eat recklessly. I have gestational diabetes to thank for that Hmm

Okay, so I’m hearing ‘sleep’. That’s on the list!

The joys of having one child - and then along comes the second one!!!! Sleep!!!!

PrimeraVez · 16/04/2021 17:01

I’m not in the Uk so not 100% sure what is possible there right now, but here’s what I did when I was in your position:

  • cinema
  • Netflix binges
  • batch cooking
  • massage, manicure, pedicure, eyelash tint haircut
  • dentist (boring but knew I wouldn’t have time to go again for a while!)
  • lots of prenatal exercises classes
  • meditation/hypnobirthing practice
  • research baby groups, breastfeeding support groups etc
Salvationz · 16/04/2021 17:18

Binge watch tele
Paint your nails
Put a candle on

MeadowHay · 16/04/2021 17:32

-Nap

  • Get your hair done and any other beauty treatments you like
  • Go swimming?
  • Read
  • Bake and cook
  • Watch Netflix/movies
  • Keep on top of housework
  • Walks/sit out in the sun
  • Meet up with any friends who aren't at work and go for walks/drink/ice cream

Enjoy and all the best with your birth

Luckyelephant1 · 16/04/2021 17:36

As well as all the good suggestions above:

  • declutter and have a good clear out
  • start nesting!
  • if you are crafty maybe make something for the baby? Eg. I plan to make my own baby mobile when I start ML.
recreationalcalpol · 16/04/2021 17:40

YY to craft - I have a cross stitch project that I’d like to start.

So I’m thinking - put the garden furniture out and nap on that. Two birds with one stone Grin

Put your feet up and relax.

If you're feeling organised you could do a bit of batch cooking to put some easy meals in the freezer for once baby arrives.

Enjoy the peace and quiet though - while you can!

KM38 · 16/04/2021 17:44

@recreationalcalpol congratulations OP 😊 not long to go now 🥳
I agree with sleep...you’ve done the baby thing before...you know how those first few months go 😅😅😴😴😴
Batch cook some family favourite meals for the freezer 😊
What about putting together some activities for DS to do when the baby arrives? Might be nice to have a few things on hand if he takes a bit of time to adjust to your new addition 😊

Springingintospring · 16/04/2021 18:08

Get a haircut, dentist check up, nails done, coffees with friends, go swimming

Springingintospring · 16/04/2021 18:09

And batch cook, fill the freezer

Sleepisoverrated150 · 16/04/2021 18:15

I nested and got the house in a good state, painted, cleaned, tidied, gardening. Don’t get me wrong I lounge around till about 10/11am in bed and watched Netflix. Took baths, lots of baths!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/04/2021 19:00

Sleeeeeeeeeeep

summerhillgang · 16/04/2021 22:55

Have a wank

hmmperhaps · 17/04/2021 07:06

Sleep.

Warm baths, pack and repack hospital bag, get a hairdresser round for a nice blow dry, pregnancy massage/pregnancy reflexology, watch lots of tv, nails done (not gel in case of a section). More sleep. Batch cook dinners.
