I'm in bloody agony thanks to my DH , He went out with the lads last night and so was sleeping like the dead , I had a bit of a twinge so turned on to my back and DH then plopped his leg down straight on my hip -cue horrible grinding noise, agony, tears unable to move until my yelling woke the git up . I ended up having to crawl downstairs for painkillers (he just turned over and went back to sleep)and my support belt and spent the rest of the night like a coiled spring waiting for him to do something else. I can't open my legs more than 4 inches now and have to do the charlie chaplin shuffle to change direction , needless to say DCs have been taking advantage of me not being quick enough to catch them raiding the biscuit cupboard as well
At least DH is on nights tonight

Thanks sally, I should know better having had it,in all my pregnancies -but not this bad TBH, DH still can't get his head round it at all, but he's going to have too, I've got 8-10 weeks of this to go. The only one of the kids who gets my goat is DS1, he's 8 so should be able to appreciate that I'm in pain, DS2 is 4 and sympathetic as they are at that age and DD is 2 and as terrible as they come.

awwwww ! I really feel for you.
I'm just 14 weeks with N.2 and pain has already started for me.
Put a big pillow between you and him ( I use the body pillow) he'll be squeezed for space and hopefully get the message.

Does it usually last till delivery? would wearing your belt to bed help?

gigglewitch · 11/11/2007 01:53

think he needs a sep bed - never mind pillow!!

you have my sympathy!

tripletsandtwins · 11/11/2007 02:53

Aww, bless you! Kick him out of bed...for good.

You definitely have my sympathy.

jamila169 · 11/11/2007 15:14

I'm an idiot really -usually if he's been out i either let him crash out on the sofa and 'forget' that he's there or i sleep on the sofa (tis huge and V comfy) but it was a chilly night so I took my chances - can't really wear my belt in bed as it can make things worse

ouch, more sympathy here. dh being quite understanding (once gp had signed me off work for a week!) so only having to contend with 2yo who thinks it is amusing to try and climb on me while i'm doing my exercises. i think big pillow down middle is good plan...

Leslaki · 11/11/2007 21:34

I usd one of those V pillows which helped - and banned dh!!! 4 years on, would still prefer to ban him he snores terribly!!!

Good luck with SPD - I had it with dd and it was rippling. Went after birth and I had a planned CS.. Heard of different concultants advising diff things - with various results so research your birth plans and ask @WHY?' a lot when you get advise.

jamila169 · 11/11/2007 22:24

It's 4th time round (and the worst SPD wise)for me Leslaki - HBAC again this time , I'm hypermobile so I need to be in full control of what happens .i'd love to put a big pillow down the bed,but we've only a standard double and DH is 18 stone so with my huge bump, space is at a premium , still, I've got another 3 nights with the bed to myself while he's at work, beyond that we'll have to sort something out. I'm going to ring round for a chiro tomorrow -luckily we have insurance

Jamila,
have you had chiro before? does it help?
What's the difference with osteopathy????

littleoldme · 12/11/2007 05:45

Jamilia - You have my sympathies. I had SPD , not as bad you but it still crippled me. Mine started to get better at about 30 weeks and has gone completely now - I'm 38 weeks. So who knows, it may get better on it's own.

I'm sure you've looked at this already but I foundthis leaflet on pelvic girdle pain helpful.

I hope it eases up soon.

Anarchymummy · 20/11/2007 14:28

You have my sympathies aswell.Iv'e got SPD too but yours sounds awful.I'm 36 weeks now on the plus side about 70% of women with SPD have no more symptoms after giving birth
I'm on crutches which tbh don't seem to help but then again I haven't tried walking much without them since i got them (30weeks)
Iv'e also got a tubigrip/materity girdle which really helps!!

Hope it gets better soon xx
