Whooping cough vaccine

Has anyone had their whooping cough vaccine that can tell me how they felt afterwards?

I had mine 2 days ago at my 20 week scan, straight away my arm was aching (the nurse said this would be the only side affect) yesterday I felt really groggy and my whole body ached. The lady who done my scan was quite rough and hurt me quite a bit, I had to lay in all positions for her to try see angles of my baby so not sure if this is why I'm aching so much?

But today I still feel so tired and just generally unwell. Is this just a coincidence or is this normal after the jab and will go in a couple of days?

I had only just started feeling human again after an awful first trimester so hoping for a better and happier few weeks! 🤞🏼

I had mine on Tuesday this week at 22 weeks - I had an achey arm but otherwise felt fine. Yesterday I felt... just a bit off? Not ill as such, but everything felt an effort when it doesn’t normally.
Today I feel fine - tricky to know what’s pregnancy related and what’s not though. I’ve had very few symptoms anyway but I’d say it sounds probably jab related for you. My nurse did say it can make you feel groggy so hopefully you’ll feel back to “normal” soon!

I had a very achy arm and felt a tiny bit under the weather for about 24 hours. The aches are extremely unlikely to be caused by the scan, much more likely to be from the vaccine. If it goes on for more than a day or two I'd maybe see a GP or else it's more likely you picked up another bug at a similar time.

I had mine on Tuesday and I've just had a sore arm since. Haven't felt poorly or anything.

Hopefully you feel better soon!

I didn’t even realise she had done the injection when I had mine, it was that painless. I had an achey arm for a few days after but that was it, felt fine otherwise.

When I had mine, my arm hurt so badly for about a week and I really didn't feel well!

jupeBex · 08/04/2021 12:32

Arm ached for a couple of days after. It's to be expected with any vaccine if you feel under the weather at all, wouldn't worry in the slightest

I’m due mines with 20 week scan which isn’t until May x

Worriesome · 08/04/2021 12:42

My arm ached with the flu jab so expecting the same again x

I had mine yesterday- same with scan it was pretty rough too.

But I feel completely under weather today! Drained and a little stuffy nose too!

NinaMimi · 08/04/2021 14:42

A bit of a sore arm for a day or two. No other issues.

ThisMammaCat · 08/04/2021 15:56

I had mine at 28 weeks ish. I didn't feel unwell after but my arm sure ached! The aching arm persisted for days too because I could never stay off it long enough while sleeping (I toss and turn a lot).

alobee1 · 08/04/2021 23:23

The ache in my arm has disappeared now and I feel like I'm going to wake up feeling a lot better in the morning (fingers crossed)

It's definitely hard during pregnancy to know whether the way your feeling is pregnancy related or not!

Thank you for your replies

I felt fluey after mine. It’s the fourth time I’ve had it so probably reacted to it. It contains other vaccines too.

Babyjune21 · 08/04/2021 23:40

I felt rough for a good couple of days afterwards with both my pregnancy’s my friends dad actually helps come up with vaccines I spoke to her who spoke to him and he said every single person is different there’s no way of telling how you body will react to a vaccines it’s not a live vaccine so it’s not the fact that it’s actually make you have the flu or whooping cough it’s just your body’s way of fitting off a foren body some people’s body’s get over it quicker others ach for days some people even throw up and get hot sweats xx

GeoffreyGeoffreys · 08/04/2021 23:44

I felt fine luckily as I moved house the next day but my arm was incredibly painful for a good few days.

PurpleFlower1983 · 09/04/2021 06:00

I had mine on Tuesday at 23 weeks and have had an achy arm since. I felt awful on Wednesday, dizzy, nauseous, very tired and irritable. It has passed now though thankfully!

Snally82 · 09/04/2021 07:02

Felt ill a few hours later and that evening it was agony (not just sore) but it didn’t last long
