My facial hair is so bad Confused. Dark ones plus blond fluff all over my face. Hate pregnancy hormones.

Anyone else having this problem? I cant remember whether I had this worse with DS or DD - anyone else feel like worse with one or the other?

Thanks

Yes but I think it's more an aging thing than pregnancy, the annoying chin hairs come back faster atm though.

Oh god. That too for me. 41...like there wasnt enough things to make me feel old Grin

I like charcoal peel off mask, it pulls out most of the peach fuzz and clears your blackheads at the same time. The dark hairs need a bit more effort.

I use Jolen to bleach the dark hair, kind of leaves me with a blondish fuzz lol but prefer it to the dark hairs x

Yes blond fuzz is better than black hairs. Cant wait to start layering again!

Oh my goodness yes, after I had IVF and was pregnant with my DD I had so much facial hair! I actually waxed my cheeks in the end as I was so self-conscious about it.

I didn’t get it back when I was pregnant with my DS and I don’t have it this pregnancy (don’t know the sex). Not sure if it was related to carrying a girl or the IVF hormones for me.

Yes I was already hairy and it ramped up in pregnancy. Everywhere I read said it would go back to normal afterwards, but it didn't Sad. I'm now pregnant with no.2 and preparing to turn into a yeti tbh. In normal times I get my whole face threaded regularly and then tweeze strays/use my JML Flawless in-between. All my hair is dark and thick like the hair on my head and I have pale skin so it stands out sigh.

MyBabyBoyBlue · 08/04/2021 22:21

Oh God, the black chin hairs. I have a very generous smattering at the moment and have been so ill recently I haven't had the energy (or the inclination) to do anything about them. Currently long enough that I could plait them. Who knew pregnancy could be so glamorous?!

SunnySideUp2020 · 09/04/2021 03:07

My facial hair has noticeably grown since being pregnant. And the light fuzz on my belly too!
I am dark haired and lightish skin so it's very visible. Haven't bleached them during pregnancy though. Just got used to the monkey state 😂
Hoping they fall off after delivery or something ...

jessstan2 · 09/04/2021 03:24

I never had that when I was pregnant, didn't realise it was a pregnancy symptom! Not surprising though considering the hormone changes going on inside.

You can get rid of unwanted hair, surely? You would at any other time so there's no reason not to whilst pregnant.

When not pregnant I dermaplan and then laser. Face is so smooth and no peach fuzz. However cant laser and very nervy to shave the peach fuzz and the crop of dark hairs when my hormones are already obv all over the place.

I usually have a bit of peach fuzz on face but since being pregnant it's deff increased and on my bump too. From what i've read it should disappear once baby arrives but if not i think i'll look into dermaplaining. Also had some random skin tags appear too which apparently is another pregnancy related thing and should fall off after too. All very glam! 🙄

jessstan2 · 09/04/2021 11:21

I see, it must be dangerous in some way to do that whilst pregnant; I didn't know.

Surely there is something else you can use that is pregnancy-friendly?

I googled and found this:
"It’s perfectly fine to remove facial hair. You can shave it off or wax it off, whichever you prefer. The idea that hair will grow back thicker and darker is a complete myth—while ingrown hairs are something to look out for, it’s also important to note that when hair first starts to grow back in, we see the thicker follicle first before the thinner strand that we’re used to."

I would be inclined to use tweezers.
