Antenatal tests

Is it standard practice currently to not do urine tests during antenatal appointments. I'm in the 2nd trimester and had 2 face yo face antenatal appointments and not been asked for a urine sample. I asked the midwife if i needed to give a sample on the screening appointment (12 weeks) but they said no.
In my last pregnancy I was to give a sample at every appointment.
Has something changes during COVID?

I think it has changed. I attended a specialist twins clinic fortnightly instead of midwife appointments and they never did urine tests. When I did mention it to my community midwife when I happened to see her she thought that was very strange so she had me book the usual 16/28/32 week appointments with her so she could do it (technically because I was under specialist care I didn't need to see her at all but she wanted to also keep an eye on things)

I’ve had to do one at all my appointments. It’s a high risk pregnancy due to previous loss. They picked up at the pre-term clinic that I attended that I had a urine infection which was asymptotic until I started getting cramps.

Not sure why they’ve stopped for you but I would push them on it if you would like to get it done.

I’m 36 weeks and only started to give urine samples at my 28 week appointment. Have given one at 28, 32, 34 and 36 weeks so far.

Think it may be common the now.

I've been asked to bring a sample to every appointment. I too would question the rationale for the change as surely there are things that might be missed without these tests.

I didn't do one until 28 weeks. Same as blood pressure.
They only do them at midwife appointments and not other ones.
However my first face to face midwife appointment wasn't until 28 weeks

I’ve been asked to do one at every appointment including my booking at 9 weeks, 12 week scan, and 16 weeks appointment.

In my trust all midwife appointments have been face to face including the booking. At my booking there was actually a trace of protein in my sample so she was glad she got one from me.
None in by 12 week appointment.

I had the booking blood and urine forms in the post, went to the drop in clinic for bloods and dropped my urine sample in at my 12 week scan as requested then they decided they wanted a sample when I spoke to the midwife afterwards as well...good job it was a 'full bladder' appointment so I was able to oblige!
Seems odd to me if they aren't doing at least one like that and then dipping when you eventually get a face to face appointment, they could get the patient to do the dipping so the midwife has only got to read the stick if they really needed to?

Thanks for your replies. I'll query this with My midwife. I'm on a specialist pathway due to complications in previous pregnancy so I was surprised not to have a urine sample taken.
I also checked out the NICE guidelines today which say they should be taking a sample so I will question it now.
