Hey looking for any advice, for the past three days I've had migraine level headaches, I can't function at all, I've been to the docs and been thoroughly checked out, BP all fine no protein etc, so isn't pre eclampsia which I'm obviously so grateful for, but I'm looking for any advice or anything experienced similar. I can't stand the pain x

I've been suffering from headaches I'm 32 weeks now and they have just started disappearing. If they were really bad and paracetamol doesn't work I usually have to go to bed and sleep it off.

Make sure you drink plenty of water I hope you feel better

Hi, I'm only 11 weeks but have had a headache since Saturday. I normally suffer from migraines, too. Paracetamol only takes the edge of it, no real help for me at all.
The only things that somewhat helps is a levomenthol stick and cold compress on my forehead. You can buy the stick in every pharmacy, it's safe to use in pregnancy and contains local anaesthetic. It's cold 4Head Stick. I can't sleep when I have headaches so it's a real problem for me as I'm so tired and in pain I literally don't know what to do with myself.

I had real bad headaches in my second trimester.
I found upping my water intake to at least 3 litres (I bought a litre water bottle and made sure to refill it at least 3 times a day) really
Helped.
And I found that solpedine soluble
Headache tablets worked quite well, they are paracetamol and caffeine (2x tablets
Is within the nhs caffeine guideline).
Eventually the headaches stopped, hope
You feel better!

I've had them pretty bad since 18 weeks, sometimes paracetamol takes them away and other times I'm left with a headache for days at a time.

I did have them in my first pregnancy too, but I can't remember them being as bad.

Like you, I've had all relevant checks. Other than a really fast pulse, nothing was wrong.

I'd just drink plenty and stay as rested as you can

Headaches can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Speak to a midwife or doctor today.

I had terrible migraines when pregnant with DD, paracetamol, ice water, cold flannel and an eye mask to block out the light. She was my first so I could afford to do that all day...currently 5 weeks with #2 and dreading it this time around! Xx

Yes I keep getting horrible headaches. They went away for a few weeks but they’ve just come back at 34 weeks. I didn’t have them with my other two children.

No signs of pre eclampsia so I think it’s hormone related unfortunately. Google tells me it’s quite common.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 07/04/2021 09:33

It's just so awful isn't it! I don't know how to function with it! It's genuinely like a migraine! Have sickness with it too! I remember having headaches with my daughter but that was a long time ago and I can't remember at what point or for how long :( x

@crispychicken12 when you get them bad do they last ages? I've had them bad in pregnancy but only for like a day a day and a half max! I've just gone into my fourth day, albeit not quite as bad today still what I would class as a really really bad headache x
