Best next to me cribs?

Hi all!

We’re going to get a next to me crib for the first 6 (hopefully) months, as we don’t have an abundance of space in our London house.

I’ve been looking mainly at the Snuzpod 4, and the Tutti Bambini Cozee Crib, and really struggling to choose! Love the look of the Snuzpod and think it seems perhaps more robust, but also quite sold on the portability of the Cozee Crib for travel and for packing away after the baby grows out of it. So much harder when you’re shopping online to get a sense of things!

Has anyone used or bought either and have feedback?

Thanks!

Hi, we've just bought and put up the snuzpod 4. I can't compare it to the cozee but am really happy with what we've got

It's a good size and I like that the crib part comes off and can be carried through to other rooms as we'll probably use it for day time naps too.

It attaches to the bed so you can zip down the side and easily get to the baby.

I think there are also a lot of updated safety features on the snuzpod 4 which swayed our decision in the end.

Let me know if there's anything else you want to know!

Thanks so much! Out of interest, how heavy is the crib part? The idea of being able to move it between rooms definitely appeals, but I have a pretty dodgy back, so my lifting threshold isn’t that high when my husband isn’t about!

Sorry @eternalflame2020 didn’t seem to reply directly in the message above - my mumsnet thread skills are clearly lacking

We had a cozee for DC1, now set up for DC2. It is portable (great for visiting family etc), but pretty heavy as a warning. Also slightly odd size, so I often had to buy extra sheets (DK Glovesheets from Amazon were reasonably priced) that were 83 X 50 (like a more popular crib - think it's a Snuzpod), but they always fitted fine

We had a PurFlo Keep me Close, which is a bit slimmer than a next to me or whatever. But my advice would be to consider buying second hand as you really use them for such a tiny amount of time - your baby may well sleep on you to begin with and then might grow out of the crib before six months. Ours only used his for a couple of months, and I regret buying it brand new!

The crib part isn't too heavy, but it is long which can make it a bit awkward carrying through narrower spaces....although my partner says that's more down to my 36 week bump rather than the crib! Grin

We just got the snuzpod 4 due to it looking really sturdy. Only problem so far is the sheets are expensive, not sure if that's an issue with all bedside cribs though.

Jumping on here, I have the halo bassinest and it’s been the best purchase we have made! The bassinest rotates a full 360 onto the bed and u can ‘shoogle’ it like a pram through the night!
The base is very heavy and sturdy so may be difficult to move room to room. But I am honestly so pleased with it. We did have a next to me but the let’s wouldn’t fit under our bed hence this purchase.

I've got the previous version, Snuzpod 3. It's brilliant. The top part of the crib is light and if you have carpets like me it's just simpler to drag it rather than try and carry it awkwardly, lol.

Thank you @MyGrassIsBrowner - is the top part of the crib fine for stand-alone sleeping - e.g. if you were just to take that with you on an overnight stay?

Haha I feel you! Thank you - I think we are starting to get sold on the idea of a Snuzpod plus a small travel cot for overnight stays!

@kat0107 You could definitely use it as a stand alone however it doesn't collapse unless you unscrew it all so it would be quite bulky to put in a car boot. You can buy travel cots pretty cheaply online or FB marketplace though and would be more convenient to get in and out of your car. Hope that helps 😊 X
