Is this line progression okay?

Hi
I just wanted some opinions in this line progression- is it okay? I have a health condition and the first thing the doctor said to me was i have an increased chance of miscarriage.
Now I know that my health condition doesn’t mean I will miscarry and I googled it was only a 20.7% chance but I want to be put at ease!
Thanks xx

Unfortunately , even if your lines do progress, it doesn't mean a miscarriage won't happen

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 08:38

@SnooperTrooper12345 I think I just need to be positive and not worry! Xxx

Congrats! You're pregnant!

Stop testing. A test does not tell you if the pregnancy is viable. It tells you that, at this moment in time, you're pregnant. That's it.

Too many variables make 'line progression' a bit of a myth...

Peachee · 31/03/2021 09:35

Looks pretty normal to me but I wouldn’t keep testing as the dyes in the kits can give you an inaccurate result anyway.. I took about 20 tests when I was pregnant and then got to a point where I thought it was stupid. I think we all do it lol xx

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 09:49

@physicskate @Peachee Thankyou! I think I just keep testing to check it’s all okay, I’ll try and stop! 💕 xxxx

I've had 2 miscarriages, one at 10 weeks, tests stayed positive for 6 weeks after.
And another around the same time but it was a missed miscarriage. Tests were still positive the day before I had a scan.

So unfortunately it doesn't tell you anything.

All it does is make people worry

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 10:12

@SnooperTrooper12345 I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriages.... I will stop testing! I’ve got the positive now and whatever’s meant to be will be. I hope you’re okay 💗 xxx

Line progression is an expensive trap. Those are both perfectly valid positive tests, congratulations. If you can't resist testing then there is no harm in a weekly one, I do that until 6wk due to history of chemical pregnancies before I will refer to the midwives. Home tests and early scans can't confirm viability of a pregnancy unfortunately, you've just got to hope it works out and celebrate milestones you pass. Good luck.

I've worried constantly with current one because of mc's and cp's but 20+1wk now and baby doing well.

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 10:43

@Chelyanne Thankyou and congratulations on your pregnancy! Sorry to hear about the previous chemicals. Yeah I’m gonna try and not test and just wait until I’ve spoken to the midwife. They said I can have an early scan because of my health condition but i know anything could still happen xxxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I done an embarrassing amount of pregnancy tests because of previous loses and in the moment I had a moment of peace followed by panic of 'is it dark enough' so I completely understand your need to test but looking back, it did not help at all. Could of probably bought a pram with the money I spent haha.

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 12:20

@PutOnAHappyFace Thankyou!
It’s so hard not to check but it definitely isn’t helping me! I’ll keep that in mind too, all the money I’m spending! I have no children so far so need to buy everything! No more
Tests haha xxx

Yes your lines look healthy. Lots of things can affect the colour, just an extra glass of water will throw a result off at this early stage due to diluting the urine.

It's more important for now that you flood your body with relaxation and calm. Stress hormones do horrible things.

Congratulations!

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 12:53

I’ll try and relax and not worry, Thankyou! ❤️ xxx

Honestly, line progression means nothing. You've got the positive, step away!!

Peony2021 · 31/03/2021 13:06

Your lines look great! I understand why you were testing, and line progression is not the best indicator but don't worry if that's what makes you feel happy and secure doing it. I had a chemical pregnancy at 5 and a half weeks and it was obvious in my line progression. So this time (currently 11 weeks) I did check progression until around 6 weeks then booked myself in for an early private 7 week scan! Made all the difference! Good luck to you xx

ginandgingers92 · 31/03/2021 13:12

I tested everyday with both my pregnancies,'for a good few weeks and the line strength was all over the place, it worried me, but now I'm being run ragged by a 3yo and a 1yo. Think positive! And don't think twice about contacting EPAU if you have any issues prior to your first scan.
Congratulations!

ginandgingers92 · 31/03/2021 13:13

Also I advocated a private scan. I had it around 8 weeks with both mine and it really helped me relax (a bit!)

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 13:22

Thankyou @idontlikealdi and @Peony2021! I’m sorry to hear about your chemicals but glad you’re all okay now.... out of
Curiosity, if you’re in th UK, do
You mind me asking how much a private scan cost?

@ginandgingers92 yay! Thankyou.... sorry but what is EPAU? Xxx

Peony2021 · 31/03/2021 13:25

Thanks @SimplyAmy1 ! I went to Window to the Womb they are all over the UK and the first scan was £69. It is transvaginal up until 10 weeks I think. I actually went back for a second scan at 9 weeks as they were so lovely and the photos were great! Xx

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 13:37

@Peony2021 ahhhh that’s amazing! It’s just so exciting! Do you know what the earliest is that they can be done? I might need to have a look into that! 👶🏻 xxx

@SimplyAmy1 it really put my mind at ease, particularly as I had shoulder blade pain which can be a sign of ectopic. I think they will do it from 6 weeks but really they say 7 weeks is a better chance to see a heartbeat (which we did). So I would recommend 7 weeks at earliest otherwise (and particularly if you aren't certain of your dates) you could go too early for a heartbeat and that might make you worry unnecessarily! Xx

SimplyAmy1 · 31/03/2021 13:41

@ @Peony2021 Thankyou! 💕💕 xxxx

Early pregnancy assessment unit, in your local midwife unit of the hospital.

I have paid between £40 and £70 for private scans x

Gemmaemilyx · 31/03/2021 18:35

Agree with the other comments - stop testing! I did the same checking for line progression then suddenly started to get fainter around 8 weeks and worrying!(hook effect)... just went for my 20 week scan today and everything is nice and normal!

You can send yourself crazy (like I did) by worrying too much! Sit back and enjoy it 🥰

Congrats on the pregnancy and hope it all runs smoothly!! Xx

SimplyAmy1 · 01/04/2021 06:45

@Gemmaemilyx ahhhh congratulations! I’m glad it’s all okay. I’ll stop testing 😀
Thankyou! Xxx
