Early miscarriage - when/do I need to call GP?

I'm 99% certain I'm having a very early miscarriage. I had a positive test really early at 9/10DPO on Sunday, and a steady line progression since then. Blazing positive this morning, so I'm definitely pregnant. I'm now cramping heavily and bleeding on and off. I'm also having slightly concerning stitch-like pain below ribcage on my left side).

I'm just wondering if or when I need to call my GP? I wouldn't even be 4 weeks yet, so too early for EPU. Do I need to tell anyone? Or do I just let it happen? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Ps please no cautionary tales about testing early - I know this is a risk Sad I have very short cycles so a missed period is still only 10dpo for me.

Really sorry to hear you're going through this - I had 2 MC last year and they were both completely different, one I ended up in A&E, one I rung up as I was bleeding and they just took the approach to 'see how it goes' and I managed to just stay home and it was all over in a couple of days.

One thing I'd be a bit worried about is the pain on one side element - might be worth having a chat to your GP or 111 in case it could be the start of an ectopic pregnancy?

If the pain is manageable a healthcare professional would likely just say take another test in a week to see if it was negative. If positive to let them know.
If the pain isn't manageable like above poster said, 111 or a&e. One sided low down you should speak to someone though because of ectopic.
I would always inform your GP. Just incase it were to happen again it would be recorded and they'd know you have history and take you more seriously/do more investigating.
I hope you're okay xxx

Thank you both, this is so helpful. I'll keep an eye on the pain and bleeding this evening and overnight and will call 111 if anything seems off. I've got a banging headache but that's likely to be the stress and the fact that I've spent most of the day frantically scrolling through my phone for some positive stories!

If it all stays straightforward, I'll call GP next week just to update my records.

@Wiggleinherwalk I'm really sorry you've had to go through this too. It's heartbreaking.

I called when I had my first miscarriage as I was in a lot of pain and she just simply said take a test in 2 weeks and again in another 2 if that's not negative. Took 6 weeks to go negative in the end, but I was 10 weeks pregnant at the time.

My second miscarriage I didn't bother calling and just went through it and tested every week until it went negative. If it hadn't have gone negative, I'd have called
