Hi ladies
Recently got my bfp on Friday which was cd24.
I usually have 23day cycles.
I've tried various due date calculators, the ones that adjust the cycle length seem to give me the 2nd Dec
Others are saying the 7th dec
Some are saying I'm 3 weeks plus others 4weeks plus 4days.
Just wondered if anyone else has any experience with this?
I know a dating scan will give me a definite date I'd just like to know roughly where I am lol
Thanks in advance x

You're normally dated from your last period but this only works on a standard 28 day period. As your cycle is shorter and you ovulate earlier then you're further along than the apps would say. So the app that you changed your cycle length on is more accurate. How many days since you ovulated if you track plus 14 days would give you the right time.

As you say though can all change at scan. Based on my cycles I should have been due may 13th but was dated may 9th on my scan even though i track ovulation xx

When was your LMP?

SnooperTrooper12345 · 29/03/2021 22:54

I think it's hard to tell your exact date and you will just have to go roughly.
When you tell the midwife, they will just go as if you're on an average 28 day cycle until you have your dating scan. But at least you know it will be probably adjusted and likely put ahead a little bit 😊

@SnooperTrooper12345 @Whilstwewait thanks both for your reply. My LMP was 2/3/2021.
I didn't use opks this month typical haha but I usually get a peak reading on cd10 or cd11.
Think I'll go with the cycle adjustment calculator and see how scan goes.
Thanks again 🙂

I'd just start with the 28 day method tbh. I have long cycles so similar problem but in the other direction. With my eldest they moved my date back 10 days at the 12 week scan but with my youngest they just used the 28 day method. She arrived late of course by 10 days by their calculations but spot on for mine.

Thats crazy. My result exactly the same even had 2 date calculations the same as you. Going for my early pregnancy scan tomorrow. Hoping I'm further along. I'm still very confused. Its possible I could have conceived before as the period I had was very short in which case I could be 8weeks.
After 7 miscarriages, 5 operations followed by 10 years of infertility I've finally been blessed with a positive test.

Pip1903 · 30/03/2021 08:53

@CeeceeBloomingdale I was the same with my 2nd I must of ovulated another later and was 10days behind what I thought.
Thanks for your reply😊

@keani
Congratulations that's fab news wish u all the best, hope all goes well with scan x

I had a 24 day cycle, and I know I ovulated on day 10, but they calculated my due dates on a 28 day cycle. I’d just pull your due date forward 5 days...
Oh and I gave birth 7 days “early” for both, which wasn’t really 7 days, it was 3 HmmGrin

keani · 30/03/2021 09:51

Thank you so much xx

Nat4392 · 30/03/2021 12:16

I had 24 day cycles and knew when I ovulated. They initially dated me based off a 28 day cycle and then once I had my scan it was then 5 days earlier. Just take a few days off a LMP calculator for the time being before you get a date x

Chelyanne · 30/03/2021 12:21

Midwives and GPS will always date you from 1st day of lmp. You will get your official "estimated" due date at your dating scan though so don't worry about it being out. The key word is estimated.

Thanks for all replies.
Think I'm over excited haha, even though such early days x

At my contraception training they told us you'll always ovulate 14 days before period, however long the cycle is. I found that unlikely, but they are experts... So I'd go with that.

Not necessarily. Many women, myself included, can have a short luteal phase. I had 24 day cycles and didn’t ovulate until day 13/14 so only had a luteal phase of 10/11 days.
