Hi ladies,
Looking for some reassurance. I had my 2nd covid vaccine On Wednesday and yesterday I did a pregnancy test which was positive (I had tested Monday and was negative) I am now 2/3 days late so I guess around 4 weeks pregnant.
Am really panicking as I know they are not giving it to pregnant ladies.

They are giving it to pregnant ladies. It's just up to the person.
It isn't that it's exactly dangerous.. Its that it's not been tested on pregnant ladies.
There's lots of people who have had it though

I was told that as there is no placenta that early in the pregnancy the chances of anything being passed from mums bloodstream to baby is minimal. (I say this as I got my BGC jab around a week before I found out I was pregnant and me and my partner got quite squiffy on wine a few days before I got a positive test and the midwife said both things were perfectly fine for the above reason)

There was a study done in the US that was in the papers a few days ago saying it raised. I concerns in pregnant women. And in the U.K. they are advising certain categories of pregnant women to have it. I really wouldn’t worry.

Sorry, typo, it raised NO concerns in pregnant women...

Thanks Girls, feel better, I also just read that in israel and America pregnant women getting it as routine.

RCOG are advising certain categories of pregnant women get it as pregnancy raises your risk of getting it and certain other factors raise your risk even more, so you've got in handily before the rush!

My local maternity services are ready for the hills because the GPs are allergic to going near anyone pregnant and they haven't been authorised to give it out themselves and are having to chase everyone in every direction.

I live in The US and they are encouraging it. I get mine next week.

@jdr1234 that’s not available here but from all the things I’ve read, UK and US they are both been given out to pregnant women. Here our priority groups are different, and pregnant people have been in them which is why they’ve vaccinated a lot more. I think it will be the same in the U.K. soon enough.

I gave the vaccine to a pregnant woman a month ago, it's very likely to be absolutely fine, it's just they didn't have the research to recommend it yet. The decision to give it is down to their doctor weighing up the benefits against potential risk.
I really wouldn't worry.
