Maternity's bras suggestions

I can't face wearing wired bras at the moment, my boobs are so swollen and sore! My boobs are on the larger side anyway, being 38E before pregnancy. I'm just finding my wireless bras that I normally wear are now not supporting my new pregnancy boobs very well haha.

Any suggestions very much appreciated ☺️ x

I posted something similar the other day @lockdownbabyx. My conclusion is if you want support, you need wire. It’s hard in lockdown but I must have tried 15 or so different non-wired from all sorts of shops and prices and never found anything that didn’t create one giant saggy monoboob.
I’ve gone back to underwire, and just alternate days of monoboob, then uncomfortable wire, and back again. I’ve found at least alternating between the two (a tiny bit) more bearable.
If you have any more luck please do share you wisdom!

@Penny2020 thank you, I was thinking that would be the case. Especially with my boobs being in the larger side anyway! I'm only 8 1/2 weeks pregnant, dreading how big these things are going to get 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 xx

Asda! George have some really bloody comfy ones! Even the ones with wiring are lovely from their maternity section. They don’t last super long (I do live in them) but they are cheap, pack of 2 was about £12 if IIRC.

lockdownbabyx · 25/03/2021 11:15

Thank you @AbsolutelyCrapuless will have a look now ☺️ xx

I’ve got some Asda ones and some M&S ones. The Asda ones are better

Barneybear11 · 25/03/2021 11:21

I’m wearing the Asda nursing bras at the moment (I’m currently breastfeeding) and I find them great for the money. 2 for £16.

GreenSlide · 25/03/2021 11:30

Molke. They have great lift and they divide the breasts with their wrap over style so you don't end up with monoboob. Firmness rating goes from 1-3 - I would go for a 2 in pregnancy. 3 doesn't have enough stretch to grow with your breasts/ribs and 1 might not be supportive enough for all day.

lockdownbabyx · 25/03/2021 11:43

Thanks all! Will try Asda first because of the price haha. If that fails then il invest in some Molke ones ☺️. At the moment I'm not even fussed about monoboob, I just want to be comfortable 😂 x

I'm so glad it's not just me. I have started with awful backache at 24 weeks and it means I obviously need more support but am struggling to find anything comfortable or practical.

Amz6219 · 25/03/2021 12:40

Mine aren't normally big, just average 34C but they feel huge! I still constantly wear the same ones from when I was pregnant with my son 3 years ago! They were from Debenhams - think they are Debenhams own brand... so comfy, going to have a look for new ones there (especially as they have closing down sales on)! x

Lou98 · 25/03/2021 12:59

Definitely Asda! I love their normal bras but their nursing bras are also great! I normally get a 38E in Asda as like you, have bigger boobs and need the support but I've found the nursing bras, even the unwired ones, to be really supportive!

LuckygoLucy · 25/03/2021 16:14

If you can wait for delivery Shein do some great stuff I didn't get too big 36 dd so can't guarantee for bigger but I liked there curve plus bralets and nursing bras xx

Penny2020 · 25/03/2021 18:25

I’m very excited by this Asda recommendation. Has anyone bought theirs recently and do I have the right ones in my basket?
I don’t have one with a George near me so might order a few sizes to try on at home

@Penny2020 I have the top ones there, the black and white ones and they're great! I also have similar to the other ones in black which are also good!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/03/2021 19:52

@AbsolutelyCrapuless ooooh! Do you know which ones from asda? Are they wired maternity ones? I'm struggling to find them?

AbsolutelyCrapuless · 26/03/2021 10:28

Sorry @AnxiousAnnie86, only just checked the post. The top two that Penny in her basket are the ones I LOVED. So so comfy, in my experience true to size although I ordered a size bigger as apparently you’re meant to go up 1/2 cup sizes and 1 measurement for after baby is born. So I have one my usual size and had one the size up for when he first arrived and was BF/ just had ridiculously large breasts!

I also think the the £15 ones I’ve tagged were comfy and the £16 ones I never had but had similar from M&S and gave more support but was definitely more uncomfortable in the early days after birth!

@AbsolutelyCrapuless thanks so much for your help! Would you say the first ones penny has offered good support? I'm a 34e at the moment so deffo need support?!! X

AbsolutelyCrapuless · 26/03/2021 11:36

Yeah i would say so, it’s hard to find ones that are supportive and comfy. These were supportive enough for me (38E pre baby). They’re never going to be as supportive as a fitted wired bra but late pregnancy and after birth they were definitely about right for me. Held them up and still adjustable. The second type I tagged that are the sports bra type definitely give more support but they do flatten you down a bit and make you look a bit frumpy IMO (I’m on the larger side so might be my size).
I’m tried a few places including matalan, M&S etc and honestly found the Asda to be the most supportive, comfy, cheapest and long lasting out of all of them. Their maternity nighties/PJs are also fantastic! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/03/2021 12:35

@AbsolutelyCrapuless thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it! Will buy some today and see how they are! Thanks for nighties tip too need to sort some for hospital bag! Xxx

AbsolutelyCrapuless · 26/03/2021 12:45

Absolutely no worries @AnxiousAnnie86 - maternity ranges are an absolute ballache to get your head round especially with the shops shut and trying to figure out sizes if your boobs are growing rapidly (mine definitely did)!

Matalans maternity clothing was good for the price if you don’t want to spend a fortune on mat jeans etc (I didn’t) and Sainsbury’s do the best big pants you’ll ever wear. Giant big black ones for late pregnancy and after the birth. Amazing.

Good luck to you all with your pregnancies x
