Being induced / reduced movement

Today I have been to the hospital for reduced movements I'm currently 37 + 5. This is my second lot of reduced movement since 28 weeks. They have asked me to see a consultant on Monday just to give an overview on everything which is completely fine. But my friend advised me that they may want to induce me is this correct? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm abit worried about induced. I did want a water birth but now I've had more reduced movement I doubt they will let me have one anyone.

I went in for reduced movement 3 times in my previous pregnancy, last one being at 37+6 where I had to stay over for close monitoring. There was no mention of an induction.

It will really depend on your hospital as they all have different practises. Reduced movement alone is not normally enough to warrant an induction though, they generally look to see if you've had any other issues throughout the pregnancy that might now put you at risk.

Not likely no induction is only done if necessary

If baby has been fine both times when being on the monitor, they probably won't induce, no

I went in with frequent reduced movements (placenta at front, was crazy how little I'd feel and no pattern). I went in at 38+3 and they induced me. Gave me the option of going back in the morning to start it or doing it then and there so chose then and there.

Onestep2021 · 24/03/2021 22:35

I went in twice and

Sorry.. and the 2nd time I was over 37wka so they pushed me to induce. I declined and went in daily for monitoring instead.

It’s so hard, I was admitted recently with this and they made noises about bringing delivery forward but since two ctgs and a scan were normal they didn’t.

Theswitch · 25/03/2021 06:39

They will probably offer to induce you, I declined as nothing wrong with scan or monitoring. Anterior placenta. They do not take risks as if something does happen then they would be liable.

Just be aware it’s your choice Smile

I had reduced movements at a similar stage with DC2. They also made vague noises about induction but checks and monitoring all fine so they let me go home.
