Covid vaccine panic!

Hello!
So very briefly I had my vaccine then got my BFP the day after. Now I'm really panicking. It's a much wanted pregnancy. We've been trying for ages and I'm 41 so time is not on my side! I did a test before the vaccine, but my internet cheapy was negative. I trusted it as I'm so used to negative tests. DP went out and bought another test today and I got a BFP bright and clear.
What should I do?

I’m in the same boat. My pregnancy was unplanned and I’d already had my vaccine. I work in the NHS and have also been working in the vaccine hub. I’m not going to have my second one but I’m convinced it’s safe. The only reason they’re not recommending it is it’s unethical to gather evidence to support the safety.
I’m nearly 12 weeks and saw a healthy baby on scan at 10+4. Essentially there’s nothing you can do anyway but I hope I’ve put your mind at ease a bit.
Xx

You'll be fine, don't worry. There is no known mechanism or theory as to how it could affect a developing baby. It is only not recommended at present for the general population as the studies conducted did not include pregnant women in them. Pregnant healthcare workers (and other high risk professions) are advised they can have the vaccine if they want to. Try not to worry 😃

You'll be fine. They'll just delay your second until after pregnancy (unless you're high risk of exposure/complications).
I had it while pregnant, as did lots of colleagues.

First, congratulations. Second, breathe. It's going to be ok.

I had my second jab the other day (frontline NHS worker), and as part of the process I had to talk to a GP as I am actively trying for a baby. As part of the counselling process, while the advice is to wait until after you are no longer pregnant (for second jabs anyway), if you are high risk (I am only by being patient facing) to have it anyway. I also had to fill in a form that is to be sent to Public Health England as part of the data they're starting to collect on the effects (if any) the jab has on pregnancy.

I would say return to wherever you got the vaccine. They should have the form. Or call your GP for a quick talk.

Thank you! I feel a lot better. I seem to have lost the rational part of my brain over this!

I had my vaccine last Monday- in my TWW. Got a BFP today. It can be dangerous to get COVID while pregnant so I feel much better knowing I'm now vaccinated xx

This is a good watch 🙂

I am 35 weeks pregnant and live in the USA and had my first dose last week. My second is booked for when I am 38 weeks. Here they are prioritizing pregnant people as the risks to us of hospitalization if we catch covid are five times higher while pregnant (according to my midwives). Over 20,000 pregnant women have been vaccinated in the USA and there are now promising reports that babies are being born with antibodies even after just one dose. So it could turn out to be a good thing that you’ve been vaccinated.

Did anyone get pregnant after the Pfizer or Moderna 2nd shot?

EXA1912 · 12/04/2021 10:44

I’m in this boat too, had my 2nd one the day before I got my positive test....i wasn’t trying for a baby so didn’t even look into it, but panicked now but I think pregnant women have had it. X
