Anti D injection - will it harm the baby?

Hello, I’m back again with another thread about anti D injections.
My dog jumped up on me earlier and it was painful and it hurt for about 5-10 mins after, so I rang my midwife just to ask her advice on it and she rang the antenatal clinic to ask them and they said to come in for an injection just incase, I explained that my partner also has a negative blood type and all that, they just said to still come in though, so I’m going in an hour or so to get the injection but my question is that if it’s not needed as I don’t know if it was a big enough blow and I have negative blood and my partner has negative blood so baby must have negative blood too, would it harm the baby if it’s not needed would it leave the baby with any side affects? Sorry just wondering if anyone has been in this situation? Like they had the injection but baby came back to have negative blood and was totally fine?
Sorry just have a little worry to myself here.

I asked my consultant about this in my last pregnancy. Due to the risk/possibility that your partner is not the child’s father they will never ever hedge about this injection or say it’s not necessary. It protects women in difficult relationships for them to firmly hold that line. However after I’d said I was asking from idle curiously and would get the jab anyway, as although my first two kids were rh neg, I didn’t know my husbands blood type and wouldn’t assume, he laughed and said if I wanted to see peer reviewed studies showing any benefit to the rh jab when both parents are neg he couldn’t do that because they don’t exist.

I made DH go and give blood and it turned out he was rh positive. DS3 was also rh neg, so DH must carry a recessive allele for it, because they are all, 100%, most definitely his.

I’m just really unsure still at the moment, I know it sounds ridiculous but my anxiety at the moment is through the roof. I rang my midwife just to explain what happened with the dog and would the baby be okay? Then she rang the clinic and they advised that, I didn’t say it was a bad bump at all and everything but they still said that even though I told them too my partner is negative. It’s stupid but I’ve been up all night worrying wether to have it or not. I’m so worried there would be risks if I have it and don’t need it, it would be the 2nd one I have in pregnancy as I’m booked in to have the one at 28 weeks and as someone has said already that two negative people can’t have a positive baby. And like I said in the last message above I posted that when she pressed the Doppler to my stomach to hear the heartbeat that hurt more than when the dog jumped on me! It’s still sore this morning, I’ll talk to my midwife again but I know she’ll tell me just to have it, but I’m so scared that I’ll have it and don’t need it then something will go wrong.

OP maybe you need to speak to the midwife about your anxiety too?

@ElderMillennial I have, I’ve been referred to the prenatal mental health team. I was on medication for years and the was advised I just stop it when I got pregnant so I’m my anxiety has come back with a vengeance and increased I’m sure by hormones and having it under control for so long. I’m just so worried about risks from having it, not having it and I’ve just been up all night worried and not knowing what to do
