Pelvic girdle pain, is this it?

Hi all, I'm 39 almost 40 weeks pregnant and been suffering with what I'm sure is pelvic girdle pain. The only way I can describe it is like I've been sitting on a spin bike for 24 hours. I feel the pain pretty much between my pubic bone and perineum, on both sides, and it's particularly bad when I roll over in bed. Basically feels like one giant bruise that's constantly being poked.
I can cope with the pain as it's not constant at least, but just wondering if anyone else had the same sort of pain during pregnancy?

There is other things with it too when you have it bad.
But that is one of the things!

Yes - I've had it since 8 weeks this time!

At least you don't have it long...? pelvic partnership website has some ideas about what may help...

Yes this is exactly it! So I started getting this around 20 weeks and initially I thought I'd somehow bruised myself down below or some sort of lump was forming as I didn't have any other hip or leg pain, so I didn't think it was PGP. But there was no lump or bruise lol. Then it got worse, but now better again 🤷‍♀️ I'm 24 weeks now and only have a mild ache here and there but I assume it will come back as the pregnancy progresses. Sleeping with a pillow between legs really does seem to help, I got a cheap pregnancy pillow.

I'm 21+6 and I have exactly this! I assumed it must be but wasn't sure. Reassuring that other people have the same and makes so much more sense!

Thats the one... mine feels like I'm ripping my pubic bone apart at times. Its grim!

It might not feel like it but you are lucky its just starting now, I've had mine from second trimester on for all 3. It does go the second the baby is out though.

Have a look online for things you can do, like sleeping with a pillow between your legs. My physio taught me to roll over in a special way. Sitting on a plastic bag in the car so you can swivel yourself round without spreading your legs etc.

Good luck!

Thank you everyone! Reassuring to know I'm not the only one, such a weird and bizarre pain I've never experienced before. The main trigger is rolling over in bed, I guess from where the muscles have stiffened while I sleep, and it's noticeable when I walk but not super painful. Definitely would not be signing up for a spin class haha! Sorry to hear a lot of you have had this for months, it's such an uncomfortable feeling. Will check out those websites suggested Smile
