I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the human body 😂 was sucking in this morning during yoga to help muscle's but then after I was curious if it does anything that low, I have a tiny bump at 16 weeks but when I sick it disappears, now it's left me wondering if it's a good thing or not .. do any others do these breathing exercises (inhaling and exhaling)

I'm not quite understanding but doing yoga and yoga breathing presents no risk to your baby. There's a potential risk to you if you aren't careful because of the changes to your ligaments etc.

Absolutely no risk to baby by sucking your belly in.

I'm 18+5wk, still deadlifting 100kg and bracing my core tight, baby is doing fine.

Definitely no risk to baby! I have a pre natal yoga book given to instructors from my mum who is a yoga teacher and the guidance is along of the lines of 'connecting with your core and hugging baby in with your muscles.' It's great to hold off diastis recti as it keeps your core muscles strong, your baby is surrounded by a sack of water and engaging core muscles to inhale and exhale will do no damage. Especially considering how hard a lot of sonographers poke and prod you during scans and that's all considered safe haha!

Hi OP, I’m 25 weeks pregnant and have been practicing yoga 3 times a day (I teach) every day of my pregnancy so far. I’ve made some modifications to my practice, and as I get bigger my belly gets in the way of certain poses, but other than that I’m continuing. Speak to your teacher about specific poses to avoid/modify, but generally yoga will be amazing preparation for your mind and body for pregnancy, birth and beyond Smile
