Sore hips

Iv had really bad pain in my hips since I was about 14w pregnant. I'm now 21w and I cannot sleep at all. As soon as my hip touches the bed it's just instant pain. Pregnancy pillow doesn't help at all. Iv even tried paracetamol before bed that doesn't work. Does anyone have any help on this one? I can't even remember the last time I slept for more than 2hrs without waking up.
I started some stretches in the day but really nothing is helping. Baby number 3 and a girl this time 😁 awkward little lady xx

So sorry to hear you're in lots of discomfort and pain. I had this from approx 28 weeks. Spoke to midwife and doctor who referred me for pgp physio. The physio clinic was really helpful and I came away with a support belt for walking during the day which reduced the discomfort at night when trying to sleep. Perhaps contact midwife for help? Physio also suggests small exercises to do every morning which were similar to the pregnancy Pilates I was doing, these helped when I did them more regularly too. Hope you feel better soon! X

I had this with my second and they diagnosed pelvic girdle.

I still remember not being able to walk for much more than 10 mins.

They referred me to physio, which didn't do much to be honest.

I wound up seeing a chiropractor for the first time in my life, and I have to say these visits helped me tremendously, although they were expensive, but if you can afford it, then I'd highly recommend if there are any practising in your area.

It went as soon as he was born, but I would say I was very firm about them not putting me in stirrups at all when I was in labour, and I actually birthed standing up (planned on all fours, but couldn't get up onto the bed on time by the time we got to the hospital)

I have this too and I'm now 29 weeks. I hope it gets better for you.

I haven't found anything that has taken it away but I've tried a couple of things that are helping.

I've put a folder up duvet under the fitted sheet on the bed, the more padded it is the longer I can sleep before the pain wakes me up.

I've been wearing SRC pregnancy leggings which have support panels in the hips and lower back. I can really feel a difference on the days when they are in the wash and I haven't worn them.

I've also been seeing a physio every two weeks. She does a sports massage whilst I'm there which makes my hips feel much better for a couple of days following the appointment. She has also given me exercises and stretches to do at home each day which sort of keep on top of it.

Talk to your midwife about putting you in for physio

Try sleeping in a reclined seated position using lots of pillows. Was the only way I could get any sleep in my last pregnancy, but would wake after about an hour and need to move.

SPD in last 3 pregnancies, 2 singletons and a set of twins. Was horrendous in my last and gave me trouble for years after too, until I started strength training. Been rearing it's ugly head for several weeks now but so far not been too bad as I started out so much stronger. Still powerlifting in the gym twice a week but reduced weight, walking the dog aggravates it a fair bit and I end up with a limp in the evenings. Managed the pain with very few painkillers with the twins so will try to do the same this time, couldn't rest much then either as hubby broke his leg when I was 26wk.

I had hip pain on whatever side i slept on to the point that i would wake up in the night. Pain stopped almost immediately when i placed a pillow just below my hip to lay on. It eased the pressure and pain straight away from my hip

Physio didn't really do much for me. I went to a chiropractor and that made a world of difference
