Af late!

as the title says my af is now 2 days late. I am like clockwork since coming off contraception over 6 months ago so this is strange for me. I've had a few early pregnancy symptoms the last couple of weeks and I did test at 14dpo which was negative (may have been too early) I am petrified to test again now my af is actually late. has anyone had negative tests before af was late and went on to have bfp? thanks x

congratulations! 😊 this gives me some hope! I'm wondering if it's just too soon to test for me still, I'm going to wait to see what my bloods say and go from there, will let you know! 😊

I don't think it's an evap line!! It has colour to it!! Here was mine which I wondered if it was an evap... now here 19 weeks!! Eeeeek keep us updated !! Xx

can I ask how your tests progressed and when you took them to get your bfp please 😊

Apologises they are all different brands but one I posted earlier I was 10 DPO (day of my missed period) the cheapie I was 11DPO (1 day after my missed period) first response one was 12 DPO (2 days after missed period) and the last clear blue was 14 DPO ( 4 days after missed period)

Also with bloods they consider anything above 25hcg pregnant (if with nhs) but tests such as first response is something like 7hcg or something! So the bloods may be too early too :-) xxx

amazing thanks for sharing that! I did do a frer at 14dpo which was negative, that was around 4 days before my af was due, I've had a faint faint positive on a cheap £1 test too and now this clear blue, but then the rest have been negative, including the other clear blue I done after the supposed positive one, im just so confused, I think the clear blue one I took was sensitive to 10 so I'm just really wracking my head over it all lol xx

I was late for my period a few months ago and turned out to be a wacky cycle. Don't want to be a bummer but keep level headed as usually by now you would have got a strong positive if you were.

I may have spoke too soon, I am so confused, I thought AF was definitely here this morning, but all I've had is a small bleed, few spots on a pad and just very light when I wipe. I have a picture (tmi) if someone would be able to explain what it looks like if I could message them, im getting quite worried now as I didn't think implantation could occur after a period especially 6 days late? I'm worried its something more serious xx

Hiya I had a small bit of blood the week after my positive with cramping on my left side. I rang the GP who then referred me onto EPU. They gave me a scan where they saw no baby.. they took my bloods and then again 48 hrs later to make sure levels were doubling. Brought me back a week later when they knew they'd be able to see something due to my levels to make sure baby wasn't ectopic... I would ring and get referred ASAP (maybe say you've had pain in one side to ensure you're seen to) Xx

I don't have any experience of that happening but I'd see how you go over night. Is AF ever a slow starter for you? I've had some cycles where the first day or two is barely anything and then wham, hello the rest of you! Do you feel OK in yourself otherwise?

Pretty sure AF has just started for me 😔 Major cramps and still feeling quite sick. Glad if it is, I can start again and have a drink on my birthday Monday after all!

yeah I think I'm going to, I've never experienced this myself, I always have 22-23 day cycles and af comes full force always so 6 days late and then this kind of light blood and mild cramping is all new to me, even in past years when I've been late af has come full force, maybe it's just the way it is this time? I have bad healthy anxiety so naturally I'm worried out my mind that something bad is happening, I still have the same symptoms, sore veiny boobs, tiredness, nausea etc, so god knows what's going on. I just hope it develops more overnight so I have peace of mind.

I'm unsure if my tests have been positive or evap lines, I've only had 2 faint positives and the rest negative, my last one was also negative, im just going out my mind right now I was quite content with knowing af was here! you say they saw no baby? was this a chemical or miscarriage? sorry if I've read it wrong! i think I will be ringing 111 as my doctors are closed now xx

Sometimes ectopics can have slow rising hcg levels. So I'd mention you've had a possibly very faint positive... no luckily everything okay! When they brought me back a week later they saw a tiny little yolk sac and now 19 weeks with a girl :-)

I have the picture i posted here of what I suspect was my faint positive so I could show them that too, I think I will ring them and see what they say, I'm worried that something is wrong, strong cramp down right side by my hip now!

was just a dodgy cycle I think, the pain went away with tablets and rest, my body isn't my friend this month, my health anxiety kicks in so I just start to worry, How are you getting on, did af show? x

Still waiting for AF to show her full face... Definitely a weird one for me too. Still feeling exhausted and sick at times. Men have it so easy ay!!

oh wow! have you tested recently or been to the doctors?

haha they really do! wouldn't have a clue what do if they had half of the natural things we have to go through as women lol x

I last tested at the weekend. I've had a wacky long cycle a few years back when ttc our 1st so I'm hoping this is the only one this time round. I'll see how it goes but I'm used to the first couple of days of not much going on and then a couple of major heavy days before it slows again.. I would say I'm looking forward to the day AF takes a hike but watching my mum at the moment I'm not so sure! 🙈
