Hi, does anyone have recommendations for books covering pregnancy, childbirth, baby care etc? Normally I like to browse books in a shop but with them still closed I'll need to order online and there's so many to choose from! Thanks

I would highly recommend "Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond" by Marie Louise. I could not put it down! It's written so well.

I did purchase the usual recommendations such as "what to expect when you're expecting" but I just couldn't get into it (it's very wordy!). That's not to say it wouldn't suit everyone, there's obviously a reason why it's popular but it just wasn't for me; I wanted something more simplistic but coveted all the major topics, which is what I found with Marie Louise's book ☺️

Ooops! Sorry, that should say 'covered' not coveted

Thanks @Bellaashleyellaashley that sounds like a good one, I'll check it out. I've heard of What to Expect.., but wasn't sure if its any good.

I can second the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond. I found it accessible but not patronising, and realistic in terms of your birth might not go as planned etc while not being too scary! I read it before starting NCT and so far the book has covered everything NCT has spoken about.

Give Birth Like a Feminist by Milli Hill was very empowering - it highlights your rights as a pregnant person & parent, and also opened my eyes to a lot of injustices around pregnancy and childbirth that still sadly occur too often. I luckily didn’t come up against any dismissive or coercive medical professionals in my pregnancy, but I felt fully prepared to deal with any if I had 💪🏻

Thanks for those suggestions, lots for me to check out.
Has anyone read 'Your no guilt pregnancy plan'?
